  1. the notion is just an observation of the team with him on the court vs. off. when he's out there, he directs traffic better and distributes the ball well. he's pretty good at driving and dishing. I feel like the other players tend to stand around when Rose is running the point.
  2. It might clearly be better, but is it going to win a championship this year? No. If we don't trade Hinrich, we ignore our biggest trade chip and don't improve the team. I mean the Suns are clearly better with Amare on the floor. Why are they trading him? Because they feel long term they can be in a better position. This Bulls team is not built to win short-term, so as far as I'm concerned, anyone but Rose is available. I tend to agree with you, just making it clear what the rest of the year looks like without Hinrich (unwatchable basketball)
  3. depends on what you want out of this season. the team is clearly much better when Hinrich is on the floor. if you trade him, you're probably back to the "stand around then shoot a contested 18 footer" offense that we saw when he was hurt
  4. I just saw the score. I honestly can't believe Michigan won. Michigan figured out that if you completely lock down the arc, PSU only has one scoring option left.
  5. PSU has the scrubs in, but Harris is still in their dunking. Classy.
  6. I don't think this is a season killer. splitting with Michigan is pretty decent. Oh look, the scrubs are in now
  7. not sure Michigan could have played a better 2nd half.
  8. #24 an #54 are pretty useless
  9. Penn State @ Michigan tonight. winnable game, but I refuse to get overconfident about any game in this league
  10. that's like the penn state classes recently. people kiss the asses of larry johnson sr., tom bradley and mike mcqueary for their recruiting efforts but you'd think that a program like penn state wouldn't be getting beaten in recruiting by ohio state and michigan year after year. Penn State recruits almost entirely out of PA, NJ and MD. It's nice to have a lock on those states, but you're not usually seeing a ton of 5-star recruits out of those areas. I'm hoping that whoever the next coach at PSU is breaks out of the antiquated "territorial" recruiting strategies and goes hard after a few guys from Florida or California Territorial recruiting strategies can work exceptionally well if you can control the territory. Georgia and Florida, for instance, don't travel that much nationally, but the Bulldogs pretty much control Georgia and the Gators pretty much have Florida secure. Penn State's problem with that, I'd say, is that Wannstedt is a good recruiter and can pull some Pennsylvania recruits away and the neighboring strong recruiting states (Michigan, Ohio) are controlled by major programs. So, the territorial strategy can work and work well - but it may not be the best idea for Penn State. also, Florida produces better players than Maryland. they just do
  11. Murton would kill for the career that Bellhorn. Agrred, Bellhorn has a ring, how many Cubs can say that 5
  12. just 1 game back of the 8 spot right now

  14. you're losing bad.
  15. POY for sure now. Just think of all the practices he'll miss!
  16. If it wasnt for Tate Forcier then it would be funny. I havent seen a offense with 2 qb sets yet. It was a bigger pickup for PSU than a loss for UM because of the depth reason. Michigan has depth at QB? Forcier and a pile of crap doesn't really equate to depth imo. How many 4 star QB recruits in one class is necessary, thats what im saying. No they dont have depth outside of this class and Steven Threet. They could of used Newsome but it wasnt a big huge blow. From what i understand without Newsome PSU would be a really bad position worse than UM, maybe not Sheridan bad but bad. correct. With Devlin transferring, I'm pretty sure PSU would have had no scholarship player to backup Clark at QB. Unless there's some surprise today, Newsome will be the de facto backup as a true freshman
  17. If nothing else, I'm happy to have a LOI from Kevin Newsome. Pat Devlin transferring almost put a huge monkey wrench into things. (Doesn't hurt that PSU signed him away from Michigan, bwa ha ha)
  18. a little frustrating when your parents think they're your agent
  19. it's hard for me to get too excited today since there really isn't any big time prospect with PSU on their short list. Feels like they're kinda getting who we know they're getting.
  20. glad to see Purdue come back to the pack. At this point, just about anyone could win the BTT (outside of IU). Fun year.
  21. I think we can all agree that the most important signing of the day has been Mike Golic's son inking with Notre Dame
  22. Signing day special on BTN tomorrow, but not until late (4:30?). When do the announcements start coming down?
  23. how is Ed Hightower the ref in EVERY Big Ten game?
  24. I'm expecting big things from this Mark Teixeira kid....anyone heard of him?
