  1. not expecting.....a tie?
  2. It doesn't take much to conceal it, though. As long as you aren't a d-bag who screws over your trainer (coughclemenscough) then everyone is going to cover for you. Just watch the MLB Network; most of their studio guys were active during the Steroid Era, yet they all act like nobody they knew/played with was doing anything. We all know this is complete BS, but the fraternity of professional athletes generally doesn't rat each other out.
  3. There's no doubt about that. As long as you believe Maris wasn't popping the greenies....
  4. and I think you're wrong. Ok
  5. his entire career that almost exactly spanned the Steroid Era? Yes, the guy who hit 257 HR including three 40+ HR seasons and a 38 HR season before 1998*. *I'm aware that players juiced before 98, but I think that is the year that is generally considered to be the start of the "steroid era". I think most people consider the Steroid Era to be 1990-2005
  6. his entire career that almost exactly spanned the Steroid Era?
  7. why hasn't this thread been locked yet?
  8. Why the assumption that Griffey Jr wasn't juicing? I've been debating who, out of everyone that's played baseball since 1985, would be the absolute most devastating name for baseball to have revealed as a steroid user. Junior Griffey would probably be #2 behind Ripken. I'm open to other names and suggestions, though. Jeter? Maddux?
  9. Funny, the ohio papers are all saying Shaq to the Cavs....
  10. What scheduling genius put this series mid-week?
  11. How about just not having Olympic baseball? I wouldn't miss it
  12. The AL East is close, but it's the same old story. Yanks and Sawks. There are now just 4 games between 1st and 6th in the NL Cen. But I do realize we would have to have a 6 way tie for 1st to get any National notice. 4 of the 5 teams in the AL East are above .500, and just 5 games separates first from fourth. 2 of the 6 teams in the NL Central are above .500. The 4th place Blue Jays would be a game out in the NL Central
  13. Cubs - 0 Bulls - 6 Bears - 0 (wasn't a fan in '85) Penguins - 3 PSU Football - 1 PSU Basketball - 1 (NIT)
  14. The AL East is far more compelling than the NL Central
  15. Vance was the one championing him, if I remember correctly
  16. TEAM L W GB WSH 44 16 --- BAL 36 26 9.0 ARZ 36 27 9.5 CLE 36 28 10.0 KC 34 27 10.5 OAK 34 27 10.5 SD 33 28 11.5 CHW 34 29 11.5 HOU 32 28 12.0 PIT 33 29 12.0 SEA 32 30 13.0 COL 32 30 13.0 FLA 33 31 13.0 CHC 30 29 13.5 No one is catching the Nationals
  17. Look what the cat dragged in
  18. Every bounce that went Detroit's way in Games 1/2/5 finally went the Penguins' way tonight. It happens
  19. That was a heck of an exciting game, and Detroit did everything they could but came up short. And now the Detroit fans are booing.....what? Their team leaving the ice? The Penguins shaking hands?
  20. Taking away past victories pretty much means no punishment at all.
  21. They're opening a 5 Guys near me :stickman:
  22. Isn't part of the reason Pedro is still unsigned that he a) wants to start and b) wants millions of guaranteed dollars?
  23. "emphatically"? That's a pretty big word for a guy who had someone else take his SAT's for him....
