  1. can't wait to watch Purdue shoot 70% in the first half again
  2. if my memory serves, PSU will likely be the first team (since the Big Ten started their conference tournament) to have a winning conference record and at least one tourney win to not make the NCAA tourney
  3. eff my life
  4. was that 3 or 4 inbounds plays in a row that resulted in turnovers?
  5. why are you guys watching that ACC blowout when it's a 1 point game with 9.6 left in the SEC game?
  6. this SEC game has been great
  7. cream and sugar please
  8. if Miss. St. wins, PSU shouldn't even watch the selection show
  9. I'd like to see Penn State get in and Arizona left out, hope you're not watching Sports Center, Digger campaigning against all things Big Ten. Yet, sucking off Arizona - man, I loathe Arizona. It is kind of a wierd situation, because while I think that Penn State probably deserves to get it I do have to agree it is somewhat ridiculous that 8 of 11 Big Ten teams make the tournament. My guess right now is that teams like Creighton and St. Mary's will get in before the eighth Big Ten team. could be, and there's certainly an argument for and against Penn State. I just think it would be disappointing for them to miss it after setting school records for total wins and conference wins. Plus, they beat all 3 of the top teams in the conference (twice on the road), and weren't swept by anyone.
  10. up until a couple of years ago, they didn't really seed the NIT at all. They never even published a bracket. But I've been to a couple of NIT games and they really are fun. Back when PSU was in the A-10, they made the NIT and hosted a game against (I think) West Virginia. This was before they built the Bryce Jordan Center, so the game was played in Rec Hall, which seated maybe 5000 people. It was one of the most intense sporting events I've ever attended. ESPN there to air it, standing room only, the crowd literally a foot from the sidelines....and PSU won. Makes me hate the fact that they built the BJC, as Rec Hall had a Cameron-esque home court advantage built in
  11. i've read a few projections this morning that have moved Penn State from "Last Four In" to "Last Four Out"
  12. Let's not forget Northwestern, Davidson, Va Tech....um.....
  13. but someone forgot to tell Vinny that you never go full [expletive]
  14. Well, if you actually look actually look at his numbers, he was pretty consistent throughout his career. which is the problem, as most power hitters don't stay "consistent" into their late 30's. He didn't really drop off power-wise until his 40's
  15. I agree with this. The problem with Soto 7th (or 6th) is that you are limiting his at-bats over the course of the season (while giving more AB's to Fukudome/Lee).
  16. sounds like a typical Cubs closer to me
  17. I like the magical 50 HR line of steroid/non steroid delineation he made up. No, Hank Aaron never hit 50 HR. He DID hit 47 homers at age 37 (and 40 at age 39), but since he didn't cross 50, he has not shattered the integrity of the game.
  18. I think Ohio State is a lock now
  19. so pretty fun, eh Illini fans? that was pretty much a carbon copy of last night (every contested, crap shot Purdue takes goes in, none of UI/PSU's open looks fall). and those black uni's were awful
  20. That was just one example of many. The greatest legitimate home run hitter of all time, Hank Aaron, never hit 50 home runs in a season but Brady Anderson did. I guess you're right, the steroid era didn't skew the stats at all. I realize it's tough to admit that the baseball you have watched most of your life has been tainted by steroids but it is what it is. skewed and tainted are two different concepts. I don't think anyone is arguing that the stats are markedly different in the steroid era. what we're arguing is that those skewed stats somehow compromised the game forever
  21. well 3 of those 4 would have to be the two UConn and one Syracuse team that won it all, so who is the other? dunno, just said the half of them were uconn. i'm unable to easily find this info look up a few posts, I listed them
  22. well 3 of those 4 would have to be the two UConn and one Syracuse team that won it all, so who is the other? Last 20 years (1989-2008) 1989 - Seton Hall 1996 - Syracuse 1999 - UConn 2003 - Syracuse 2004 - UConn 2007 - Georgetown So he was right
