    Ha-ha; thanks for the laugh. (Insert missing ROFL smiley here.) No Problem! But I didn't say the ONLY problem. Their pen is at the bottom of their problems. It can all be done in house no moves need to be made except re-signing Wood. Really? Other than Marmol and Wood, who do you trust? Maybe Howry. Dumpster is better as a starter just to get him out of the closer role. Neal cotts excites you? Lou obviously hates Scott Eyre. Howry Marmol Wood--if they resign him Wuertz Thats 3 currently, and possibly 4 very very solid relievers. Who is the closer? Is Marmol ready? Wood? And I am not sold on Wuertz. I worried about the pen last year and many times I wasn't disappointed.

    \ How in the hell are they similar? Infante wont walk, cant hit, to replace DeRosa with Infante would be one of the most ignorant things Hendrys done. He was talking defensively, I think. DeRosa was a big suprise last year. He turned out to be worth his contract. Many thought Cubs overpaid, but he overpreformed.

    Pie will never "get ready" in Iowa! He kills the pitching there. The only way he takes the next step is to be given the CF job and have a month or two to adjust to MLB pitching and UMPIRES. If he keeps getting a start and has to constantly look over his shoulder, he will never adjust. Let him start the season in CF and bat 6th or 7th and see what he is doing on June 1. Then make moves if you need to. Pie has earned that much.

    Besides that, why would the Tigers want Jones? Isn't their outfield already clogged with granderson surrouded a multitude of middle of the road outfielders and Sheff as the DH? What are they going to do with him? I don't see them adding salary just to get jones. Unless Hendry is going to pay half Jones' money and that only makes the deal look even worse!

    Unless Jones stays and you clog up the outfield and delay Felix Pie in center even longer. Hendry needs to realize your offense ins't that bad and better defense in center is more important than another overpriced bat. Cubs biggest need is in the PEN!!

    Jones' 5M pisses you off that much? I would rather sit Jones on the bench and pay the 5M then drag Infante into your already overcrowded infield. If they wanted Infante, why not have kept Izturis? I agree that this is bad news for Cedeno. Maybe Cedeno slept with Sandberg's wife, that is why he must go!?!

    When Boston is paying a 12-14m SS over 20m a year, then we might be able to shift that nickname from NYY to Boston. I thought it already had shifted. Started after they overpaid the posting fee for Dice-K.

Who's your favorite Little Rascal, Spanky? Welcome aboard! I love having fans form other teams on this site. But, you're going to have to be careful at times because of your allegiance to the Evil Empire. I thought the "Evil Empire" had moved farther northeast. LOL. I promise I am not an idiot 96er Yankees fan. I do hae knowledge of the game and of other teams. I actually grew up in Illinois and understand Cubs pain. I will try to behave on the boards.

    I agree, Shorter contracts arer better. I would prefer 5-6 years myself. But Will he go 6 when Zito got 7?

    Rolen is still good defensivley. However the cards will be stuck with him, unless they are willing to take a lot of the money. I heard as much as 18 of the 36 he is owed. Rolen is worth 6, if that turns out to be true. Otherwise He is stuck in St Louis, because they have no young pitcher to make the Beckett/ Lowell type of trade.
