  1. So what do you guys think of the NFC East now? I think the teams from best to worst are: 1. Giants 2. Cowboys 3. Redskins 4. Eagles But I think all four are in the top 10 of the NFL overall. It's just amazing how good the NFCE is this year.
  2. I somewhat feel the same as you. It was a fun year, and while I'm definitely excited for the postseason, it's kind of sad to see all but 8 teams finish up their season.
  3. Derek Lowe, Chad Billingsley, Hiroki Kuroda, and TBA (possibly Lowe on short rest or Maddux). Source So: Lowe vs Dempster Bill vs Zambrano Kuroda vs Harden TBA vs Lilly Sounds good to me. If we're going to lose one of those games, Game 2 would be most likely, but I think the Cubs can sweep.
  4. Wow, now it'll be three straight years of seeing the Dodger's season end.
  5. Did Chip just say the game was presented by "Frank TV" Noo! I hope that if they shill this show again during the playoffs, the commercials will at least be...you know...funny.
  6. Haha, somebody had a sign at Shea that said "Heimlich maneuver n :( w!", with a frowny face in place of the O.
  7. Same. I can imagine the boos raining down in the next couple minutes. It's not going to be good, not at all.
  8. Chad Ocho Cinco. ](*,) He's killing me this year.
  9. Nah, I'll delete mine. Yours was posted seconds earlier (since mine was higher up on the list) and you have a better list of games. Kinda funny, though :) Haha, cool. Is there a way to delete your own topics? Top of the posting box when you hit "edit post." Thanks

  11. Whoops, Ski and I both posted the "other games" thread the exact same minute. I guess this thread can be locked/deleted.
  12. I present to you, the 2005 NL West! That division was simply horrible. I remember rooting against the Padres even after they clinched in hopes of having a division winner under .500. Sadly, they finished 82-80 and promptly got swept by the Cardinals.
  13. http://i37.tinypic.com/24y4lmd.gif AL Central Twins (2) 87 74 - White Sox 86 74 .5 NL Wild Card Mets (2) 89 72 - Brewers (2) 89 72 - ( ) = Magic number Still two playoff spots up for grabs. The Twins can clinch tommorow, but if not, the White Sox will have to make up a game on Monday against Detroit, and after that, the Twins would come to the Cell (if necessary) on Tuesday. If the NL Wild Card needs a play-off, it will be played at Shea on Monday. Looks to be another exciting day of baseball!
  14. I don't think that's "messed up", just because she'll have other family members to support and help raise her. Plus, with the Banks, she'll be much better off than with a foster care family. While her dad dying while she's young is still sad, this adoption will help the child's life greatly.
  15. Well, if he was doing the same thing back in the first half that he's doing now, his batting techniques can't be the problem. I think it's a classic case of the league figuring him out, and I think in 2009, he WILL have to do something different.
  16. Haha, I remember that game. When Neifi came to the Cubs, I was thinking "Well, this guy doesn't seem like too great of a ballplayer, but at least he saved us back in 98!" Maybe someone on the Cubs will replicate Neifi's performance tommorow, and he'll be remembered by Mets fans.
  17. The problem I have with leaving out Marquis is that if a starter gets shelled or injured. We need a long reliever in the pen, and while I guess you're thinking Marshall would fill that role, I think Sean will be used as more of a LOOGY. But yes, hopefully we'll never have to actually use Marquis this postseason.
  18. An interesting read on Kosuke's first season Good to see that Kosuke isn't making excuses. Hopefully, he'll be able to rebound next year and come back as the same Fukudome we saw pre-ASB.
  19. Dodgers Pros: Mediocre offense outside of Manny, 5-2 against them this year Cons: Good pitching staff Mets Pros: Bad bullpen, Johan must be gassed Cons: He's still Johan We shouldn't fear either team, as I believe the Cubs can beat anybody in the NL, but I still think it's good to compare the teams and figure our chances.
  20. Couldn't have said it better myself. The child will do much, much better with two wealthy, loving parents, and will get much more opportunities in her life rather than if she were put into foster care. Best of luck to the Banks family, and may Alyna have a great life with her new adoptive parents.
  21. I just made a couple posts at BrewerFan, and they're blowing off some steam, but atleast some posters are being rational. Most people accept that the Cubs aren't "showing up the Brewers" or didn't "tank against the Mets". Here's a few posts, in case anyone cares.
