  1. If it is a keeper league, I would probably go with Jackson and Addai given that they will still at that high level for a little bit longer IMO. I could go either way, though.
  2. I didn't realize .331/.364/.522/.886 since june was nothing in AAA. And I'm with raw, this is Gary Gaetti part 2. I agree with you that Edmonds should not be resigned and I really like Pie, but I want to play devil's advocate a little bit on Pie. That IsoD is still bad, and an .886 OPS in that league isn't that impressive given that it is his second year in AAA.
  3. How has Matt Cerda been doing?
  4. sad day to quote a "Bernie M" that tripped me up a little bit too.
  5. Playing devil's advocate here, what if the Rays get to/or win the World Series?
  6. I dont mind being called a homer, but I went with Z/Harden
  7. They waived him to trade him. In part because they can get something good for him now and in part because they'd rather his salary (and $3.5+M next year) off the books. If they weren't intending on trading with the Rays, they could just pull him back. Remember, players from both teams have to clear waivers. So anyone attractive and cheap on the 40-man from the Rays doesn't have much of a chance making it through. First, I'm surprised that Bradford cleared all of the way to TB. Solid late pickup for them. Second, would the Rays players have to clear waivers to Baltimore (not that there is that many teams they'd have to clear first...)? I thought a player had to clear waivers in order to be eligible for the post season with his new team, not for the trade to happen. Baltimore obviously isn't concerned with making the post season this year.I think they only have to clear if they are on the 40-man roster
  8. No, and Pie is starting to turn it around in Iowa IIRC. Replace Edmonds with Pie. Keep Johnson and properly platoon Johnson and Pie, not what we saw this year. If this does not work move Fuku to CF and trade for a big bat at some point. Hoffpauir can replace Ward. I want to save the money to resign Dempster and/or Wood.
  9. I hope you're not implying that he should get in simply because he pitched well in a dramatic postseason game. No, but I think he's implying that said game will hold far more weight with the people who get a vote than it should.bingo
  10. i wonder what his wife thinks about this
  11. It's back to the 8th spot for you, Fuku. 9 spot would be good for him. Bat the pitcher 8th, get somebody on base for Sori, theriot, and lee. batting the pitcher 8th is supposed to result in more runs anyways
  12. Cuban would be much more like Steinbrenner (George edition) than Loria
  13. What? A jock who was a jerk in high school? Madness. Most overblown and overplayed stereotype in teen movies. seriously
  14. Basically the Duke offense is a very good semi-mobile QB, a very good WR, an average RB and average 2 and 3 WR's, and a young bad offensive line. Do you think that the offense will be balanced? I would be very surprised because we only averaged like 2.7 yard a carry last year. What kinda offense do you think we'll see? Also, Lewis had pretty good stats last year. 55.3 completion percent, 6.75 yards per attempt, 21:10 TD:INT ratio as a true sophomore What kinda numbers do you think I'll see?
  15. hell be placed on the 15 day DL with Ian Kennedy taking his spot in the rotation, according to ESPN
  16. Cutcliffe is doing really well in the recruiting for Duke. I have gotten really excited about him. He set a goal of losing 1,000 pounds as a team because it was in such bad shape. He said that if the kickers continue to do as bad as last year, he will go for it on every fourth down and two-point conversion. (we had to have open tryouts in the general student population for a kicker last year). He has some players to work with. Thad Lewis has been great for us at QB, he should be scary next year as a senior and two years under Cutcliffe. Eron Riley should be drafted next year (hes a WR). Oghobaase has been a stud at DT and Taulili and Vincent Rey have been very good LB's. The rest of the team is pretty shaky and I would be very happy with a 3 win season.
  17. would clemens/pennington be an upgrade over grossman/orton? just curious as a falcons fan
  18. damn spurrier stopped voting for duke and we are starting to show signs of life now too. mind you that means maybe three wins, but still. West Virginia could have been ranked higher than eighth, White will be better than last year, Devine was better than Slaton at the end of the year anyways. The offensive line is back, wide recievers don't matter that much but we lost Reynaud. Special teams will be better. The front 7 on defense might be a little shaky but not too bad. Eighth is not overrated IMO. (I have a little bias, though)
  19. beating the cardinals then the white sox in the world series would be so epic
