  1. Why? As a GM he traded Scott Kazmir for Victor Zambrano. Try again
  2. Ibanez would not have been a smart decision
  3. His peripherals were really good with Boston. I think he would have done pretty well with any team.
  4. I know Vance and some others wanted Lawrence Sidbury pretty bad in the draft. He has looked great in the preseason for the Falcons
  5. Should it be considered a sport if it takes four people to win a relay?
  6. They have all had very good seasons this year and would certainly have moved up.
  7. Stevens, Gaub and Archer aren't mediocre prospects. Stevens still has good upside as a reliever while Gaub and Archer both are top 20 prospects in the organization. Gaub might be top 10 and the only reason Archer isn't higher is because he's still at a low level. Gaub has set-up type potential as does Stevens. Archer could very well end up starting in the majors. All three have been very good in the minors this year and Stevens has gotten some major league success with us already. They are certainly better than the likely players the Cubs could have gotten with the DeRosa picks. I don't remember exactly where those three picks in the 06 draft went and I can't find anything to remind me. The reason he gave up those picks is key to how much he valued them. Yes this. Gaub, Archer, and Stevens are worth more than a sandwich pick (DeRosa will be type B)
  8. hahahahahaahahhahahah oh hardcore
  9. I would definitely miss Guzman, Marmol, and Marshall. And the draft picks for Gregg
  10. Sign Duchscherer
  11. The Cubs suck. Hopefully they win. or if they don't, it doesn't really matter. We're not making the playoffs anyways
  12. 2008 Gregg: 3.41 ERA; 1.282 WHIP; 58:37 K:BB 2008 Wuertz: 3.63 ERA; 1.433 WHIP; 30:20 K:BB Gregg wasn't great last year, but he was better than Wuertz. Also, Gregg got hurt around this time last year (the same knee injury he struggled with early this year) and that's why he was taken out of the closer's role. I'd say that those two stat lines are pretty much the same
  13. AD MJD Forte Jackson Turner Turner had way too many carries this year and the Falcons have been talking a lot about throwing the ball more with Gonzalez
  14. i like this idea too, although i'm not sure how easy it would be to get a taker for dempster's contract. Agreed. It would be ideal, but I don't think it is too realistic
  15. I want to sign him back. There are a ton of starting pitchers on the market this year, so his price should hopefully be pushed down.
  16. If I had to rank them right now, I would go. 1- Vitters 2- Cashner 3- Castro 4- Jay Jackson 5- Lee 6- Brett Jackson 7- Carpenter 8- LeMahieu 9- Burke 10- Rhee
  17. I thought he came over for Barrett EDIT: I'm pretty sure Ceda came for Walker and Burke for Barrett
  18. There is some debate over whether Redman or Shockley should be the backup for the Falcons
