Luck has maybe a little to do with it. They have just been a whole lot better than the Cubs for the better part of the last 10 years.

I think there were a lot of anxious batters in this game. Anxious or not, still was a great outing. sure. I wouldn't sign either of these pitchers due to this game though. You can do a lot worse than Suppan. 4 years straight with over 30 games started. 190+ innings a year, few walks, good ERA>

Like Wainwright for the Cards, Heilman will make a very good starter. The changeup is my favorite pitch in the game.

Didn't realize Matsui played for the Cubs. Your name fits you well :lol: Point being this, there were many wanting the Cubs to get involved in the bidding process with Matsui and were disappointed when the Cubs didn't. Turns out it was the right move. This guy looks great, if the Cubs somehow end up with him I hope he truly is. I think the Mets recovered fine from that mistake. Again, your missing my point. I don't care how the Mets recovered. The question is Japanese talent and your ability to evaluate it and project how they will face against major league competition in the U.S. That is a lot of money, I just hope if it is the Cubs they have done enough research and scouting to have a pretty good idea how he will adjust.

I just hope that if they do submit a bid, that they have done their scouting/homework. That is an awful lot of money to invest. We went through this a few years back with Kaz Matsui.

Yeah, it just says that he got a second opinion other than O'Neal. It's a good thing. Unless you know O'neal's medical abckground then you are pretty unqualified to make that statement. I know Mark, Mark did some work on me a while back. He is a ifne trainer. When did you get worked on by Mark O'Neal? When he was in the St. Louis Cardinals organization.

I know Mark, Mark did some work on me a while back. He is a ifne trainer. We have 2 years of pretty poor health results, particularly with pitchers. He's the trainer. He shares some of that responsibility. He's not a magic healer either. Just because a guy gets hurt doesn't mean its the trainer's fault.

So hows the shoulder now? Better, but I"m no longer playing the game. And I didn't have Prior's ability. I was able to come back though with minimal issues.
