  1. No kidding. How can anything related to Notre Dame be underrated?
  2. UNI is kicking our ass.
  3. UNI's going to keep that game close for a while before Iowa puts it away in the 4th. 10-3 UNI. I swear if we lose this I'm quitting sports.
  4. Well, Iowa is pissing me off.
  5. ESPN is doing a good job of reminding me why I hate Tim Tebow.
  6. His attitude about it is pretty impressive although, maybe its a lot easier to face death when you are 90. Who knows.
  7. Why did this happen? Were they just doing a little preseason goofing around? EDIT: I missed that the kicker was injured but I thought they carried multiple kickers in preseason.
  8. I hope the kids in Rice's neck of the woods are avoiding his lawn.
  9. Yes, there's lot of doubt. Smoltz is done. You don't know that So was Edmonds. Didn't Edmonds start playing better once he stopped taking medicine that was messing with his vision? I don't think Smoltz's issue can be fixed like that.
  10. Cards also lost, so it's not really a big deal yet Regardless, please don't don that think where you bump this after every series we lose I hope it does get bumped and edited because I think this will be interesting to follow.
  11. Cards also lost, so it's not really a big deal yet Regardless, please don't don that think where you bump this after every series we lose When, exactly, does it start to become a big deal? It's mid-August, and the Cubs are playing like crap. It's not a big deal according to his scenario. Of course they are playing like crap but that's not the point of the hypothetical scenario that was laid out.
  12. I don't think he's that good anymore and the Packers have a better QB at this point in Favre's career, on top of that he might be making the Vikings worse, so him being in the same division as the Packers is probably a plus. It just sucks, emotionally, to see him in a Vikings uniform. I don't know what the hell I'm going to do with my Favre jersey right now. I suppose wait a few years and nobody will remember him on the Vikings. Hell, maybe he'll suck before the season starts and will get cut, or maybe he will change his mind and retire again.
  13. From what I understand, Iowa doesn't really have one set team that the fans despise. It really depends of what part of the state you're from. People in northern Iowa hate Minnesota, people in central Iowa hate Iowa State, People in the Quad Cities hate Illinois, and I suppose people from the Dubuque area don't like Wisconsin although I don't really know. This is based a lot off of message board reading though as I don't know many Hawkeye fans outside of Iowa City and the Quad Cities as those are the only two places I've lived. I think there is a pretty good rivalry between Wisconin and Iowa because they seem to be two similar school at this point (two middle of the pack, non-OSU, Mich, or PSU, Big Ten teams who have battled for the conference on occasion lately, and they also have seemed to be the best middle of the back teams) but I wouldn't say there is a lot of venom between the two.
  14. I drove by Kinnick the other day to see it prepared for the season (you know, with the padded season ticket holder seats in place). I can't wait until Sept. 5, although I am more afraid of UNI than I logically should be.
  15. I know the Favre retirement crap is played out and old, and I hate it too but I've been thinking of this, as a Packer fan and him playing for the Vikings pisses me off. Favre is the reason I'm a Packer fan. I have three different Favre jerseys. Two from when I was a kid and one I bought a couple of years ago (during the 4-12 season in fact). Favre is pretty much my childhood sports hero...and now he plays for my least favorite team in sports. I guess now I know what Cards fans feel like with Edmonds or maybe Bears fans with McMahon playing for the Packers (all though I'm not sure Bears fans really cared and McMahon never really played for the Packers) but it isn't really the same. God, seeing him in the Purple uniform for the first time is going to make me puke. I really hope he fails for them.
  16. So do Packer fans boo him out of Lambeau like they should or are we still going to see half the damn stadium wearing a green number 4 jersey?
  17. God I want to break something. I'm sick of losing like this.
  18. I knew it was too much to ask to beat the Padres.
  19. I think if Sandberg is hired we're going to have plenty of years similar to 2006.
  20. Because the Padres and Dodgers are guaranteed to play all-world baseball against the Cubs after quietly laying down and letting the Cardinals have their way with them. Remember, they got swept by the crap on a stick that is the Padres in July, wouldn't shock me a bit if the Padres managed to all of sudden quit struggling vs the Cubs. If you remember though, the Padres were playing some really good baseball at that time. If I'm not mistaken they won 9 games in a row, or something like that, in the stretch that they swept us. The Padres aren't as good now.
  21. I'm really nervous about this upcoming road trip. I don't care if the Padres take up a lot of it. I never feel safe going out west. If we can have a good one we should go on a pretty good run because we play some teams at home that we really should beat afterwards.
  22. A good start to the scoreboard watching day as the Giants fall.
  23. That play by Mujica is a pretty good indicator of how amazing adrenaline is.
  24. The Padres walk Lugo with the bases loaded to tie it and now Pujols is up. At least he sucks with the bases loaded this year.
  25. Can't really take anything away from this defensively, though. Like 7 of our guys that are supposed to be starting on opening day aren't playing tonight. Very true. Im mostly just watching Kamp to see how he does. I'm predicting a biiiig year for Rodgers. Pro bowl, even. If Rodgers and Cutler play up to their potential the Bears/Packesr rivalry could reach epic levels.
