  1. Why doesn't Oregon seem to get National Title talk and USC does? Oregon lost to Boise while USC lost to Washington.
  2. kafka hurting his hammy really killed northwestern's chances to win this game. big games the next two weeks to shake out the conference, with osu @ psu next week and then iowa @ osu the following week. wisconsin is also in the mix for a new year's day bowl (they could easily win out @indy, vs michigan, @northwestern). i don't see michigan st winning out (they're the other team with 2 losses or less, but they are @minn, @purdue, vs psu). I wouldn't cry if Kafka is out next week. And I'll be rooting hard for Penn State next week.
  3. Penn State decided that they didn't want a close game any more.
  4. not really, because then a team like duke or clemson or bc would make the bcs. georgia tech is really the only hope of having a good team come out of that conference. How many people would watch a BCS game between Duke and Cincinnatti. I'd say it'd be about 7.
  5. Duke winning whatever they call the division they're in in the ACC would be awesome.
  6. I thought I've heard that Illinois has only beaten Michigan at home something like twice in the last 50 years or something like that.
  7. http://www.littlecaesarspizzabowl.com the committee for that bowl would LOVE to get michigan (and they'd probably play a directional michigan team, so the game would probably sell out) but generally that bowl is for the northwesterns and purdues of the conference, not a team like michigan that considers itself a national power. I don't know. I'd think Michigan would just turn it down (if teams still do that).
  8. Where the hell did this come from Illinois?
  9. When teams haven't played each other you only really have a couple of pieces of tangible evidence to go with. One is strength of schedule and the other is margain of victory. It's really just a matter of determining when one supercedes the other. It's really something that can be argued forever. Chances are, barring an upset, Iowa will get a shot against a big team, either in the Rose Bowl, National Title or possibly an at large if the only loss is Ohio State. I don't know if Iowa would get destroyed(they probably wouldn't fare well now as they have a lot of offensive players hurt which doesn't help when your offense is average at best) but I personally don't think they would. The team is pretty much designed not to get blown out.
  10. People don't hate Iowa because they are undefeated. It's because they play in a weak conference, are over-rated and play a sissy non-conference schedule . They should be ranked about #14. Florida, Alabama, Texas and USC would crush them and about 9 other good teams would beat them easily. yeah, those other teams play such tough non-conference schedules. also, iowa has played top 25 arizona and 5-3 iowa state. Florida and Alabama play in the SEC - they don't need to play a tough non-conference schedule as they play in a real conference with a playoff game. Arizona is the 4th best team in the Pac 10. Beating them at home is not that big of a deal. Althouht beating Iowa State and Arkansas State was huge. Reminder - There is a reason the Big Ten went 1 - 7 in bowls games last year. It's not a very good conference. If you're going to use last year as any evidence (you shouldn't because that's dumb) Iowa beat the piss out of a team from a real conference. You know what. I'm done. Maybe Iowa shouldn't be in the title game but to pretty much say that they are barely top 15 is really dumb (that is based on everything up to today, if they choke the next 3 games away then they obviously aren't top 25.)

Florida, Alabama, Texas and USC would crush them and about 9 other good teams would beat them easily. Texas fits all those criteria, Florida doesn't play anyone non conference and USC lost to freaking Washington. And Iowa would destroy all those team, because I said so. Iowa State, Arkansas State, Arizona and a bunch of Big Ten patsies. LOL at Iowa's schedule. ABC is cringing at the thought of Iowa in the Rose Bowl and yet another Pac 10 blowout. Stupid evidence that states otherwise. I love how beating a team who is either going to be tied for first in the Pac-10 or all by them selves in second is not a good win.

  14. I'm pretty sure Iowa's strength of schedule is better or as good as all the undefeated teams. Yeah, they've barely beaten some bad teams but THEY'VE BEATEN GOOD TEAMS ALSO and most of those were on the road. But the Big Ten sucks I guess, so beating a one loss team and a two loss team in their house doesn't mean much.
  15. That's a good question. I've grown up in Iowa and I've known like two of them and they didn't care that much about sports. There just aren't that many.
  16. I'm mainly worried about this one because of injuries. This is the first game that I'm not having a panic attack beforehand in quite some time at least, so that's a plus.
  17. Bulls looked good tonight. Hopefully they can put up a fight in Boston.
  18. You're referencing Ahman Green's return to the Packers right?
  19. Just the one year? Yeah, I'm having a bad feeling that Iowa isn't going to finish higher than 8th for a very long time.
  20. That Bush play is amazing. He jumps so far it looks photoshopped.
  21. I have one thing to ask. If we're going to blow it, please don't let it be against Indiana, Northwester, or Minnesota.
  22. Wow the Saints are good. That's pretty impressive to go from down 21 to winning by double digits.
  23. This looks like the 2007 Patriots against a college team right now.
  24. The Bengals might be the best team in that division. They look really good right now.
  25. That's really stupid.
