  2. http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/baseball/bal-os0131,0,5335928.story Doubt Pie would be in a package for 4. Probably a Gally/Murton or Colvin/Epatt/Marquis or Dempster thing if he's got his facts straight. I'd bet its Gallagher, Murton, and Marquis. Or something like that. Hate to give up Murty and Gallagher, but if they take Marquis I'll live with it.
  3. He'd hit, but he'd be a butcher in the field and wouldn't be greeted warmly by fans.
  4. Baseball isn't a video game. Yes I know..But its funny how the orginization is trying to keep a straight face about the situation..Everyone knows they want him out..He serves no purpose here..Im sure the O's would take him if they threw him in instead one of our prospects or we can just dump his salary and trade him for sum prospects to a team desperate for pitching Do you really think the O's would allow us to swap Marquis for Gallagher in the proposed deal? That's insane. We're not the only ones who know Marquis sucks. Even a team that is desperate for starters and sees some value in Marquis would prefer Gallagher, IMO. I think he meant a lower prospect. The O's have expressed interest in Marquis, so they may take him in a trade in addition to Gallgher/ Marshall and whoever else is included
  5. Who's 32? Wasn't that Lieber's number in his previous stay with the team.
  6. Me too. A guy who's almost 50, and a team that loves old guys. It's a match made in heaven.
  7. good low risk pickup for them That's a great deal for them. If he starts to perform, he'll be great for them until they trade him.
  8. I thought he turned down a contract offer from them last week.
  9. Don't most threads around here turn out that way? I think if we removed all of the off-topic stuff from this thread, we'd have only 100 pages. But that would take the fun out of it.
  10. Decent defensive catcher. Enjoy retirement Damian.
  11. http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20080130&content_id=2360377&vkey=hotstove2007&fext=.jsp&partnered=rss_mlb The Birds are trying a last ditch attempt to sign him for five years....which would be monumentally stupid. LOL The O's are funny
  12. I don't know what's more amazing, that this trade hasn't happened yet, or that this thread has reached 150 pages.
  13. I think we'd only acquire him if we trade Pie. I doubt we get him if Pie's still on the team.
  14. If Theo wants to trade him, then he shouldn't expect a large package in return. Unless he thinks he can outsmart Jim Hendry, which is hard to do.
  15. Depends on the situation. If he's replacing Pie because Pie was dealt as part of a deal to net us Greene, hells yes he's better than Pie. Oh, if only... Yea, that's the only situation in which I'd want him.

  17. You mean Hoops (or his source, I guess) is completely making this up? Either way, I'm on board the Crisp bandwagon too, though I hadn't realized how much his numbers had suffered since going to the Red Sox. Yeah, maybe a change a scenery would help. He was going in a good direction after 04 and 05, but then crapped out in Boston.
  18. I wouldn't mind Crisp at all if he wouldn't cost much to acquire.
