  1. http://www.suntimes.com/sports/baseball/cubs/857360,eyrecubs032308.article Davanon is a 34 year old career back up who got his most playing time for a few years with the Angels. And his career batting average is .259, not .295.
  2. I don't know why the Dodgers or anyone would want him in a trade. No one wanted him as a FA.
  3. That's a questionable metric by which to judge an outfielder. Say the guy lets a ball drop in front of him that a better center fielder would have caught, or breaks the wrong way and lets a ball go over his head; neither would go as an error. Yeah, I know that, but I posted it as an FYI anyway. I know that range factor and other metrics are a much better means to determine the quality of a fielder.
  4. It's funny you mention that, because I've been seal clubbing with Steve Kline before. I blame that on CT !! I hear that's the hip thing to do It's been the hip thing to do for quite some time now.
  5. Also, he has a career .990 FP and has not committed an error in 59 career games in CF.
  6. I expect better numbers than that from Johnson. Probably something like .275/.340/.410. Those are more in line with his career numbers. Last season was a down year and he was injured.
  7. I voted for CSNY, Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd, but I'm wondering where AC/DC, Bruce, Deep Purple, and The Who are.
  8. Bruce, what more can you tell us? Is there interest in other players we have not heard mentioned yet? Maybe DaVanon. They like Johnson better. The usual trade suspects are still out there, but as we all know, they're not easily obtainable. DaVanon? Bleh. I'd rather have Johnson. What are the chances we sign him and would he be a bench player or platoon with Pie?

  10. http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpages/playerbreakingnews.asp?sport=MLB&id=3283&line=231692&spln=1 Screw Baltimore Seriously. Even if this trade doesn't happen, it would be nice to know so we can all move on.
  11. Lopez may not be great defensively, but he's not terrible. And moving to the NL Central would help his stats and I could see him putting up a line of: .275/.345/.425 with 10 Hrs and 20 or so SBs.
  12. Who's watching the Pens-Devils game? Who saw that non-goal with the puck rolling towards the net only to roll away at the last second? I'm still in tears over how it didn't go in.
  13. Him and Hendry should get together and tell middle infielder stories.
  14. He's an alright player. He'd warrant some interest from me.
  15. He can be pissed off. I don't blame him. This has been a big distraction for him and the rumored players involved. They're still talking about this trade and its a week or so til opening day.
  16. I wouldn't mind Lopez as long as he'd start at SS and bat 8th. I think he'll bounce back after last year, especially with a change of scenery.
  17. Talk about a buzzkill.
