  1. tick, tick, tick, tick, tick...ka-blewee!!! All done. This made me think of this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rwhU99_66R8
  2. I thought one of the reasons the A's are releasing him is because they feel he can't play CF.
  3. No thanks, not at that price. And his career line away from Coors looks like: .274/.324/.417/.741 Whereas at Coors, his career OPS is .899.
  4. gtfo WHTICHRIR FKPLENVOSZ See, I can type random letters in all caps too.
  5. I'd rather them take Marquis. At least if Dempster sucks he can still crack a joke or make us laugh with one of his antics.
  6. So it seems as if Marquis and Payton are now involved perhaps? Well, it's still all spec. He said he "predicts" unless he knows something else that he isn't saying.
  7. His production is unacceptable at any position. he'd be a good hitting pitcher unfortunately i don't think his fastball could top 37 mph. Pierre fastball would be called the noodle. "Watch it Johnny, he might throw the noodle!" It may work at first. Batters would be used to heat and then have to face a 30 mph fastball and was swing way to early. Then after a few innings they'd catch on and Pierre's ERA would be so high that Shaq couldn't touch it. I'm thinking the Bugs Bunny effect where the hitter swings 3 times during one pitch and strikes out. Seems about right.

  9. Lou can kick you into a well, so beware. Certain players can still be referred to as "Dusty-type" players.
  10. I would give the edge to Pierre, simply because GMJ can provide occasional pop, and a great glove. Whereas Pierre lone attribute is his speed. So, I would incline to say Pierre got the worst contract during the 2007 offseason, heck you can even say his contract is the worse in the past 15-20 yrs. Mike Hampton and Carl Pavano say hi.
  11. I always thought high socks made you look faster and skinnier. That's why I always wore high socks during my playing days.
  12. Marty Brodeur is awesome.
  13. I think Zambrano should bat cleanup.
  14. I prefer it that way.
  15. Any minute now somebody is going to post a lame "the deal is done but they don't want to announce it on the same day as [insert random current event] joke. It's coming, I can feel it. They want to wait until after St Patty's Day.
  16. i would consider that ok with me for an all-star 2B Mark Loretta is an all-star 2B. Do you want him to? not a good comparison....loretta is almost 40 You're missing the point. I'm not saying Loretta is as good as Roberts. I'm just sick of people using the "all-star" thing to validate the Roberts trade. We get it, he's good. Pointing out that he's an all-star just makes you look desperate. Being an all-star is meaningless when looking at trades. Absolutely meaningless. Especially when its the lone pitty All-Star every team has. Mark Redman says hi.
