I've been wondering that myself. There's been some speculation that possibly the Cubs and Twins can work something out that would make Lahey the PTBNL leftover from the Monroe trade. Oh yeah, forgot about that.

I'd rather not trade Lieber. Or Marshall for that matter, but we all know he slept with Hendry's wife or something and fell out of favor with the organization.

Well, I already did this in my blog so I'll just copy and paste it here: AL East: 1. Red Sox- I just think they have more weapons than the Yankees at this point. 2. Yankees- Not far behind, I give them the Wild Card. Hitters and pitchers are getting older. Hughes, Joba and Kennedy will help. 3. Blue Jays- Some talent, not enough to ever over take the top 2 in the division 4. Devil Rays- Plenty of young talent, a breakout year for the club is due shortly. 5. Orioles- Have some young talent, but nothing special. They'll spend the year in the cellar. AL Central: 1. Tigers- Solidified team with acquisition of Cabrera/ Willis. Sure, at a cost of two of baseball's best prospects (Andrew Miller and Cameron Maybin), but the team seems to be primed for another playoff run. 2. Indians- They had a great season last year, almost reaching the World Series. They'll give Detroit a run and could still make a playoff appearance. 3. Twins- Bye-bye Johan. Still have a decent team, but a lot of question marks, such as the roation and at third base. 4. White Sox- Just can't put it together. With the acquisition of Nick Swisher, they'll be better. However, it's not enough. 5. Royals- Butler and Gordon should provide plenty of offense and Teahan should rebound from his putrid 2007 season. but the rest of the team isn't as encouraging. AL West: 1. Mariners- This will be a tough division. Acquiring Bedard probably gave Seattle the advantage. 2. Angels- Losing Lackey for the first month won't help their chances. 3. A's- Billy Beane is never a player in the FA market, but he always fields an above average team. 4. Rangers- Pitching isn't there. NL East: 1. Phillies- I really see them improving upon last year. They made the playoffs despite suffering injuries all year. Adding Lidge to the mix moves Myers back to the rotation where he's better suited. Lidge will miss the beginning of the season, but I think he'll be effective when he returns. 2. Mets- Adding Santana and getting Pedro back from injury should help the team in it's playoff quest. 3. Braves- Have enough young guys to make it interesting. 4. Marlins- Lots of young talent. They won't be great, but they'll make some teams sweat. 5. Nationals- Were busy with minor moves this offseason, but other than Shawn Hill, the rotation is a mess. NL Central: 1. Cubs- Improved offense by adding Fukudome. Pitching could have used another addition, but Zambrano, Lilly, Hill is as good a top-3 in the NL as any. 2. Brewers- Improved bullpen, but it's not enough. 3. Reds- Dusty's in town. How long before he destroys Harang, Cuetto, and Bailey's careers ala Prior and Wood? 4. Astros- Rotation is a mess, but offense is decent. 5. Cardinals- Fallen from grace after winning the World Series only a couple of years ago. Pitching is a question mark, and how bad is the offense? LaRussa has Cesar Izturis penciled in as the starting shortstop and batting 9th—behind the pitcher. 6. Pirates- I don't think I need an explanation. NL West: 1. D-backs- Adding Haren to the rotation makes this team very formidable. This will be one of the tougher divisions in baseball. Any of the top 4 could come in first. 2. Dodgers- They have plenty of talent to put everything together. 3. Rockies- If pitching can hold up, it will compliment the superb offense and defense. 4. Padres- Hitting isn't there, and PETCO Park is not very nice toward hitters. However, their pitching staff is as good as any. 5. Giants- Too old and too untalented to compete for even 4th place. Playoffs: AL- Yankees over Mariners, Red Sox over Tigers NL- Cubs over D-Backs, Phillies over Dodgers AL- Red Sox over Yankees NL- Cubs over Phillies World Series- Cubs over Red Sox in 7 (Yeah, I'm a Cubs fan, big whoop, wanna fight about it? My blog, I can be hopeful if I want.
