  1. New movie idea: The Number 8 starring Jim Carrey.
  2. I'm a big Lieber fan. I hope he gets to go out a winner.
  3. Hoff is an average hitter with average power who has above average plate discipline. Sounds like a Billy Beane player to me.
  4. A&W Root Beer
  5. They're only 4.5 games out. I'm not sure why people think they want to trade their best pitcher. I'm also not sure why we'd be willing to give up much of anything for a guy who has averaged 15 starts per season over the last four years. Beane was burned on the Giambi deal, and he hasn't let another player walk via FA since. If he doesn't think he can afford to resign him in the offseason, he'll be dealt, unless they're looking like strong WS contenders, and not just a borderline playoff team. Zito walked via FA. Obviously Beane hasn't gotten burned in that deal so far but he still let Zito walk. He had no intentions of tendering him as he wasn't good at the end. Not the same. And although anyone with half a brain could see Zito's pronounced decline, Beane still looks like a genius for that one. That was one of the best non-signings in recent memory.
  6. I doubt it, but I guess we'll have to see.
  7. Should we expect any better?
  8. I think Geovany Soto should roundhouse kick AJ in the face.
  9.
  10. That surprises me. Not the part about the Brewers but us being 2nd. Everything I've been hearing suggests the Cubs don't have the prospects for Sabathia. What's with the Yankees not even being on this list. They have plenty of young guys to trade and more payroll freed up this offseason than they'll even be able to spend. What I'm hearing is that the Yankees have just gotten the farm system back in shape and don't wanna blow it all on Sabathia. They'd be more willing to trade for a Randy Wolf or Joe Blanton.
  11. I had a dream last night in which Hendry convinced Beane to trade Harden and a PTBNL for Pie and Veal. If only.
  12. This just blew my mind.
  13. I had a dream last night in which Hendry convinced Beane to trade Harden and a PTBNL for Pie and Veal. If only.
  14. I'd love having him. The big qustions are if he can stay healthy and how much Beane will demand. He's screwed us over before (see: Kendall, Jason).
  15. This year could be the last for a lot of great pitchers. That'll be one heck of a Hall of Fame ballot.
  16. Gibbons now has the freedom to hunt down Ted Lilly on his own time.
  17. Randy Wolf isn't good and moving out of that giant box of a park isn't gonna help.
  18. Hopefully never, but the Cards just showed their true selves and we picked up zero ground.
