I don't think so. His numbers aren't that great. I don't understand why people think Ronny doesn't deserve another shot. -
I might trade Ervin Santana for Butler and Lincecum (especially in a keeper league), but that wouldn't even get talks started for Johan.Wow, now he's offering me Teixeira, Jon Rauch, and Tony Pena!

The Sox already had plenty of power. Lee is the better offensive player when it comes to HR and RBI and AVG but what Podsednik gave the Sox was a player who could manufacture runs, a player who could beat out an infield hit (40 in 2005, 16 of those bunts), a player who could get on base (.419 OBP leading off the game in 2005) in the first inning and be at 2B by the time the meat of the order came up. He was the spark for the Sox in '05 and the offense suffered when he was out with an injury later in the year, which almost cost the Sox. Pods reminded my alot of what Bobby Dernier did for the Cubs in '84. So say what you will about old baseball traditional positions but there is a reason why they are traditions.....it's because they work more often than not and in 2005, it worked like a charm. I guess infield hits are better than outfield hits? -
I was in a league where this one guy really wanted Johan Santana, but he wasn't even willing to give to me Mark Teixeira. His final offer was Billy Butler and Tim Lincecum for Johan Santana.

Trades usually aren't very good when the guy you get can't come close to the production the other guy put up. -
is this a joke or no? serious. if we could cut him we would be better off. I totally agree. That .897 OPS he had last year just really dragged this team down.

yeah...silly me...this is the Chicago Soriano's after all. He is a liability to the team at this point. Even at his best last year, he did not impress. He rarely gets on base, which is the main job of the leadoff hitter. He doesn't work the count either which is another key part of being a leadoff hitter. Beyond that, we've heard all of these excuses about him being a better hitter at the top then in the middle where there is more pressure which is a very lame excuse. He is not hitting at the top either. Also, even when he does get on...he can no longer run. He needs to be in the middle to at least drive in runs when this so called hot streak comes along. Fukodome should be leading off on this team. He is a good hitter, works the count & has the right mindset for a leadoff hitter at the plate. He is not a basestealer but neither is Soriano...in part because he never gets on. I don't know. His three homer game vs the Braves was very impressive. Yeah, but he didn't work the count in those at bats.
