  1. Why am I so negative? Because, you guys are being way too positive. I have to balance it out so to not anger the Baseball Gods.
  2. I actually heard a quote from Derrek Lee where he said how the Cubs are the best team in the league and quite possibly the best team ever, but he knows they can't win because they haven't won in a 100 years. It's actually a proven fact that the Cubs can't win. I mean, they are the Cubs.
  3. Rich Hill's going to get totally owned tonight. There's only one direction to go from here: down.
  4. This is a gem: Yes, they've got us right where they want us. You always want to spend the summer playing catch up.
  5. I mentioned this in another thread, but I got offered Billy Butler and Tim Lincecum for Johan Santana. Later, he "upped" the offer to Mark Teixeira, Jon Rauch, and Tony Pena. Oh, and he also wanted Joakim Soria thrown in the second deal.
  6. This. Fuku Lee Aram Soriano Soto should be 2-6 Why not: Fukudome DeRosa Lee Ramirez Soriano Soto Pie Cedeno switch Derosa and Fukudome and that's my lineup
  7. Did you hear a rumor about us being interested in Roberts or are you just throwing an idea out there?
  8. CUBS WIN!!! CUBS WIN!!! CUBS WIN!!!! I LOVE THIS TEAM SO MUCH!!!! RONNY CEDENO > RYAN THERIOT!!!! TED LILLY'S FINALLY GOOD AGAIN!!!! WHY AM I SHOUTING!!!!
  9. I heard Ronny's opponent in fantasy baseball this week has Wood. I think that explains it.
  10. It's so strange to have a Cubs team that is actually fun to watch.
  11. I wouldn't be opposed to either Penny or Lowe. or Billingsley or Kershaw :D
  12. I'm serious, if we got Lincecum or Cain I would literally pee my pants.
  13. Is it just me, or is Olney just getting dumber and dumber?
  14. I think you have a point. Most of their struggling players will pick it up at least a little bit, but I can easily see a lot of them regressing quite a bit from last year (though I'm not banking on it). (1)Fielder had a monster year last year, but he might regress closer to his 06 numbers. (2)Braun will end up being good, but maybe not nearly as good as last year. (3)Weeks has only had 1 good year. (4)Hart may regress a decent amount from last year. (5)Hardy will almost certainly not put up the power numbers he did last year. (6)Hall has had one good year and one pretty good year. They have a lot of potential but a lot of question marks - especially if Sheets ends up being out for awhile. 1. He probably won't hit 50 home runs again, but to say he will come closer to 28 seems a little harsh, and only 81 RBIs? No, Don't see that happening. At his time last year he had only 2 home runs. 2. I could see this, however he also is playing his 1st full year in the majors this year, we didn't have him till May 25th last year. 3. This is such a tricky subject, Rickie walks so much, but he just doesn't trust his wrists. He has a chance to be a damn good player, im leaving this on imcomplete. 4. NO. This one you are wrong. Corey Hart didn't become a full time starter till end of April last year, He had a decent year last year and he will only get better. 5. Okay I will give you this one, no on saw that one coming thats for sure. 26 last year was alot of home runs for him, I could see 15-20 this year and be happy with it. 6. He is quickly becoming Adam Dunn without the walks, and with a better defense. I see him hitting around 35 home runs this year, however only hitting like .255. I see what your point is, but I could sit here and say how I think player X for the Cubs is going to regress also if I wanted. This should be a fun summer. Why'd you bring that up?
  15. Some thoughts on tonight's amazing game: I thought it was really original when ESPN kept bringing up the 100 year thing. I had no idea it had been that long. I liked when one of the announcers said there was almost no way you could get a double play on Reyes, then on the next pitch, Reyes hit into a double play. Zambrano really looks like he's back to being an ace. Fukudome's 8th inning AB was really good. Ronny Cedeno and Felix Pie= love Also, I like how they showed the Alou foul territory play where the fan knocked the ball down. I've never seen that before. When did that happen?
  16. So this is what it feels like to root for a good team.
  17. But Dusty Baker manages the Reds
  18. People are getting really excited about this ballclub and so am I. Cubs lose 10-0. Ramirez gets hurt. Lee and Fukudome look silly at the plate. We find out later tomorrow night that Pie has been sent down. Carlos Marmol starts feeling discomfort in his elbow. Kerry Wood also gets hurt somehow.
  19. Cro Magnon joke about Khalil Greene in 5,4,3,2...
