  1. there's no way they'd DFA rusch. zambrano could get hurt in his next start or guzman/hill could go completely in the toilet. if you dump rusch, then who do you go to? ryu? walrond? marmol? i'd send aardsma down, and bring up wuertz just so you have a fresh arm out there for the next couple days. then when it comes times for rusch's next start, you send down whoever's pitching the worst b/w wuertz and novoa and bring up hill for the start.
  2. i wish you guys would quit bumping this thread...other teams may read this and find out about barrett's...um...decision to randomly take a couple days off. 8-[
  3. i thought you were always a rusch supporter?
  4. Earl Weaver just turned over. in a stunning development, the move leads to zero runs.
  5. except that both of those guys have shown the ability to be at least moderately productive in the past couple of years.
  6. i've been driving this bandwagon since before some of you guys were born.
  7. geez, batlimore's down two in the 9th w/ guys at first and second and no outs...and they have patterson sacrifice bunt??
  8. 2006 corey patterson is making 2006 juan pierre look like 2005 corey patterson. or maybe it's 2006 juan pierre that's making himself look like 2005 corey patterson...

Good thing the Cubs locked him up, huh! and gave him a raise!

that news came in 'round 1997. he just wants to see the hand sanitizers get back in this game. lee was about two feet from making this one a four homer game for me.
  11. honestly, how do they keep sending him out there?
  12. i think that means that he'll be trying extra hard to throw strikes today, so the cubs should swing at a bunch of first pitches. right? also, please don't talk about barrett and his "situation" in this thread. the brewers may be reading it.

good idea - people seem to have forgotten how good guillen is when healthy. yeah, he's solid...his 2004 was great.

well, i guess if carlos guillen is going to outscore teix, tejada, matsui, and carlos lee, i'm not gonna win. at least all my guys suck this week, so i'm not wasting any good performances. time to set my sides on tim. :D

crap...now tejada's hurt. so far this week i've had injuries to barrett, tejada, bradley, street and patterson. yikes.
  16. His average is up to .275 now, but as someone else mentioned, he only has the one walk and isn't getting a whole lot of extra base hits or anything. 2 hr and 1 double in 40 ab, works out to 240 bases in 600 ABs. He's actually slugging decently because of the high percentage of HR (.450) Anyway, he still needs some improvement to be worthwhile his playing time has been pretty sporadic until recently. for a while there he was just pinch running and coming in for defense. in his last six starts, he's had four multi-hit games...10-25, 2 hr, 6 rbi, 7 runs, 3 sb, 4 k's.
  17. what was there to hide? do you not think the brewers knew that he hurt his finger and may not be available today? i think if i knew it, i'm guessing the brewers did too.

you gotta be [expletive] me! first anderson doesn't tag on a fly that would have wiped out a QS for garcia, and then dye friggin robs kotchman of a 3 run homer. now i'm sure garcia will leave with a [expletive] QS.    He only gave up four hits . . . I have to be leading the league in walks. Hafner score 6.75 last night without a hit! yeah, i saw that. quite a productive 0-1. he only gave up four hits, but he was about six inches from giving up five (not to mention six runs). that could have made things a little more interesting. though i am down a lot more than i thought i was. my offense has done squat this week. 51 rbis last week, 19 this week...ugh. yea, even after Myers start you hadn't gained much ground. You'll have a tough task catching up though it certainly isn't impossible. i was thinking i had a chance after garcia started off so bad in the 1st. then if kotchman would have just gotten a little more on his ball, it's probably like a 12-15 point swing... bah, all i need is a couple really good starts from oliver perez and scott elarton. 8-[
  19. if dusty put that much thought into, say, having mike remlinger face lefties, maybe he'd be a better manager.

  21. And a walk. How dare Corey try when his team is already winning? i'm just glad people continue to rag on patterson when he's doing well for another team. he could save 40 babies from a burning building and people would complain that the fire wasn't even that bad by the time he'd saved #34.
