  1. He was out of options, hence the trade. no he wasn't. bynum was out of options.
  2. Exactly where would you have liked to have inked him into the rotation, 10th???? Zambrano, Prior, Wood, Maddux, Hill, Guzman, Marshall, Rusch, Miller??? any trade that brings in freddy bynum is a bad trade. i'd rather have koronka in iowa than bynum in chicago.
  3. if it makes anyone feel better, the guy the cubs traded for freddy bynum -- he of the sub-.600 OPS -- threw 8 1/3 innings of one run ball in arlington.
  4. i think you guys are forgetting how fast these guys are. that cannot be emphasized enough. three [expletive] ab's by murton...he's seen five pitches. aggressive!!!!
  5. pierre literally has trouble hitting the ball out of the infield.
  6. are you friggin' kidding me with those calls?
  7. well, it was no secret that papelbon would give up his first run as soon as i put him in my lineup.
  8. you're forgetting that they also have good chemistry um...i never forget that. nice ab, murton. clines would be proud.
  9. don't worry everybody, the cubs are fast and they play good defense. i'm sure that'll get em back in this one.
  10. hallady didn't deserve a QS anyway. :D
  11. stupid beckett.
  12. manny and halladay are both lucky to be alive after that disaster. whew, no rain shortened shutout...
  13. 50 pitches thru 2.
  14. i don't know about that. though with sheff, pujols, and bonds all missing games b/c of minor injuries, i should really win. glad to see beckett throwing strikes tonight. Myers is making up for it, though. yeah, he's dealing. he throws too many pitches though. i can completely see halladay getting a five inning, rain shortened no hitter tonight. and beckett's walked the bases loaded before giving up a double. nice.

  16. i'll probably regret this since i play you soon, but why the hell do you still have griffey in your lineup? Because I don't have anyone to replace him with. put him on the DL and pick someone up off waivers.
  17. at least drew got one in on valverde to keep him from getting too easy of a save. :D someone needs to get on base in front of jd! tying run at the plate w/ two outs in the 9th and you pinch hit sandy alomar? with cruz and repko on the bench? you gotta be kidding me...

  19. i've decided i have too many guys that suck on my team.
  20. five straight hits...murderer's row of lamb, wilson, ausmus, everett, and the pitcher.
  21. f'in sheets! getting owned by everett and friggin' ausmus.
  22. well, there goes my two starts from beckett.
  23. amazing as in surprising? because if that's what you mean, it's not that amazing. they sucked at it last year, brought in a few guys that also sucked at it last year, and the team sucks at it this year.
  24. last in the nl in walks. even if i was saying they were last in mlb, saying they were actually tied for third from the bottom isn't helping your argument that they have good plate discipline.
