as negative as I am, I can’t really get too mad at steele. he’s carried this team all season and had to throw a ton of innings because a bunch of big money veterans like taillon and smyly were completely bums.

looked up the details on the 2004 collapse for obvious reasons. cubs were 2 up on astros for WC spot when Latroy Hawkins gave up a two out, 9th inning 3 run hr to the mets. cubs go on to lose 7 of 8, astros end with 7 straight wins. as brutal as I remember it!
