  1. great, now the lines will be even longer at the few remaining concession stands.
  2. Capital letters, I think my heart just stopped. i only bust them out for hilarious, completely original towel jokes...they're my vice!
  3. TOWELS! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
  4. i don't think it matters if he was on anyone's roster. my understanding of the rules is that he would not be exempt.
  5. Yeah, b/c hometown discounts for an org that drafted and developed you is completely out of line. Bastard Cubs organization. Worthless arrogant SOBs. i don't get why people expect z to give the cubs a hometown discount. the cubs didn't give him more money when he was pitching at a level above what he was getting paid.
  6. this is where giving jason marquis $21 mil might come back and bite you in the ass.
  7. funsies. good luck with that, mr. macphail.
  8. true.
  9. touche. i have a feeling i'll end up with one of the guys i dropped. though i doubt vlad lasts to #3. i'll take either the best OF or best SP available. i'm still trying to figure out how i feel about matsuzaka. i pick three times before that...burrell won't be there at #25. the draft isn't as deep as i thought it would be. Once the last few teams make their drops, there should be plenty of decent players to draft. only three teams left to drop, and it doesn't look like any of them are going to have trouble keeping their best players. this draft looks a little deeper than last year's, but i feel like there are less top guys this year. last year there was sheff, jeter, dunn, rj, giambi, webb, smoltz, lackey...this year it's vlad, a few #2-3 type starters and a bunch of question marks.
  10. problem is, i don't know if there are any other elite players available in the draft.

  12. who is everybody taking with their fist pick? out with it.
  13. i see. not only are the points ridiculously high, but i think the order is wrong to.
  14. hey juan, are you able to fix the pitching points in the projection part of the draft board? by the way, sent my $ yesterday.
  15. so because the cubs have sucked for 100 years, they shouldn't have fired dusty for sucking for two?
  16. man, everyone is really concerned about who the 5th outfielder and 3rd catcher are going to be.
  17. Major League Baseball will provide a live television broadcast of a portion of the draft for the first time. The latest plan is to broadcast the first and supplemental first rounds live on June 7, and draft through the fifth round that day. The remaining 45 rounds of picks will come on June 8.
  18. He's actually the opposite of Neifi. Well, they both can't hit but I thought Hill was a pretty good OBP guy that could steal some bases. Not really. Hill has 6 career SB's, they all came with the Cubs. He hasn't had a SB since leaving Chicago. Also, his OBP is ok, but does it really matter if your OPS is below .700? He has had one year with an OPS above .700. That was with, you guessed it, the Cubs. It was .701. Again, he's Neifi without the defense. again, no he's not. you just making the proclamation that he is doesn't make it so. hill has 45 points on him for career obp and 20 points in ops. and he's five years younger.
  19. lemme guess, you were vehemently opposed to the karchner/garland trade and the willis trade?
  20. Not nearly enough of them, though. Reyes, Ramirez, Johnson, LaRoche, Kearns, Piazza & Peavy are all non-exempt players and add up to around 3300 points. For being the one that noticed this, I formally request we wait until it is my turn to draft to push Reyes & Peavy back into the draft pool! :D yeah, i was wondering about his point total...thought it looked a little high.
  21. looks like fishbulb made his cuts.
  22. I sent messages to all of them to remind them. cubbyrage said he would do his this weekend but no one else responded. not sure where shane has been - actually I saw a thread he started tonight but I am confident he will get his done. raisin and chris are around but they are new so we'll cut them some slack. the other two I'm nervous about . . . yeah, the nsbb-ers can be harassed pretty easily...i'm not worried about them.
  23. looks like we're waiting on... alamo buddiga (though he posted something about who he wanted to keep somewhere) burning bulbs danger bees db coopers severe tooterstorms
  24. I haven't heard any objections unlike the March dates. i'd probably prefer march to february, but i think it's more important that everyone shows. so if february is better for everybody, i'm all for it.
  25. yeah, that's really gonna piss me off. so were settling on 2/25 then for the draft?
