i don't understand why everyone discounts the brewers by saying "well, they're the brewers" as if the cubs are somehow entitled to win games and the brewers aren't. -
how many f'in times do the cubs have to face duke before they figure him out? every other team in the frickin' league seems to have solved the mystery. geez, the cubs suck.

gamecast is all weird. it's following the game, but it puts up the wrong stuff. it said lee was intentionally walked and ramirez grounded out to ss...neither of which happened.

And to make matters worse, they are playing the 1955 Pirates who don't think it's necessary to put the game on TV at all, so no extra innings channel is showing this one. Absurd. i was going to order extra innings today (last day of the early bird offer), but now i'm not so sure.

how about some pitching this week? six of my seven starts could be against three of the four lowest scoring offenses in all of baseball!

tough to compete against all these 25 point starts. 120+ point day for my opponent...looks like i'll be 2-2 and looking up at the rest of the division.

That's framing the argument in an unflattering way. The bases are loaded, a big hit all but wins the game, the pinch hitter will be used for defensive purposes(especially when Zambrano exits and Pie can enter, further eliminating the need to save pinch hitters). Plus, Barrett is still available as a good RH pinch hitter if things go bad. i hate to see jones face lefties as much as the next guy, but i feel like ph-ing there would be over-managing. i wouldn't have pitched a fit had murton ph, but i have no problem with him staying on the bench. of course, i would have started murton to begin with.

there's no way you should be ph-ing l/r matchups in the fifth inning of a game you lead by four runs.

When someone bats .100 something against lefties, the bases are loaded in a critical situation and we have a guy on the bench that plays right field and DESTROYS lefties, he should come in. it's moves like that that leave you with marquis pinch-hitting in the ninth inning. Come on. That would happen regardless. ok, it's moves like that that leave you with murton playing ss the last three innings.
