i can't believe there are four pages of people griping about this. who gives a crap? everyone threw a hissy fit when the game ended in a tie, and now you're bitching because he kept a guy on the bench. it's not like he let the pitcher bat there...if you'll remember, it was the all star game, so the hitters up there were pretty good.

whether you agree w/ mhuber or not, you have to respect the fact that, while trying to argue his point, he has the balls to cite statistics that directly refute his claim.

no, we don't. and you're using raisin's stats to support this assertion? the stats he used didn't make them look at all similar. and that's including hill's horrible 2005 when he was back and forth b/w the pen and the rotation and aaa and the bigs.

didn't loduca catch like 50 innings yesterday? my apparent victory today has to be one of the biggest surprises of my rk career. i was down 15 and behind in starts 2-0. dice-k and eaton both suck, but i'm still down b/c my offense doesn't do anything. then, in the late afternoon game, russ martin goes nutty to put me ahead. barring a four error, three gidp game from andruw, i should pull off the miracle. that mccann hr helped me by getting AJ a point, costing maddux points and giving mccann points. hopefully that cancer barrett will continue to ruin maddux's start... :twisted:

moral of today -- if you're ahead by a lot and you have starts remaining...you may just want to not use them.

and throwing jones and pagan (whose baseball IQ makes michael barrett shake his head in disgust, by the way) will? you say that it was ok for pie to play when the cubs sucked, but not now...well, part of the reason the cubs sucked was jones. so now that they're good again, it's time to go back to the guy that led you into suckiness? that makes sense.

The same Barrett had 5 guys steal out of 5 attempts the day before with Chris Young on the mound. One of those steals was Russell Martin stealing 3rd. Barrett was never good at blocking balls, but he's been absolutely brutal this year in regards to passed balls. And 3 guys did still bases successfully against Barrett last night, including Luis Gonzalez. So basically, he nailed 1 out of 9 in the last 2 games. look at him go.

dempster went down at around the same time barrett was traded...why is barrett's absence the reason for the turnaround, but dempster's isn't? -

like that wasn't going to happen after all your talk about your great pitching! and like marquis wasn't going to suck after you said that! when are you guys going to learn about fantasy baseball karma? ps - i'm going to lose this week anyway, so this post of mine won't really come back to haunt me karma-wise.

You're in the playoffs as of right now! Which is exactly why I traded Webb to you rather than him; I can't help him get even better since I'm trying to overtake him. :D well, if your goal is to win it all, making tim better isn't helping your cause either. My first goal is to make the playoffs, since I haven't come within sniffing distance in previous years. If I were two-time defending champions I wouldn't be satisfied with just making the playoffs, but being among the bottom three teams in the league in both previous seasons results in a different perspective and expectations. come on, that sounds like jim hendry talking! :D

You're in the playoffs as of right now! yeah, but raw is clearly better than me and HBC has added penny and hawpe essentially w/o losing anything that hurts his team. and i haven't had any luck trading...everyone that's wanted to trade w/ me has asked for a player that, if i traded, would just open up another hole in my lineup. i'm not holding a fire sale or anything, i'm just saying i'm open for offers. i realize that my team isn't as good as it's been the past two years. of course, i could just stand pat and hope that andruw and the drews get their act together...
