oh, it looks like a junior high girl started another poll about me on the roadkill site. someone must have just gotten their first period and is a little cranky. and i'm the whiny baby.

apparently the nd/bc game will not be available in iowa on saturday, as abc and espn will be showing stanford/oregon and iowa/psu. my nd fan friend is in the process of losing his mind because of this outright travesty.

Al will get a light slap on the wrist for making what was surely an honest mistake, since he isn't constantly looking for ways to get advantages over the other teams in the league. Hell, nothing was given to Adam but a light slap on the wrist, either. It's not like you've taken his first round pick away or something. lol. i'll humbly draft a written apology to everyone in the league (except al, he's a defiant rule breaker like me) if that will please the fantasy gods.

The rule is: It is too late to add players to your roster once YOUR team's season is over. To make it fair, should playoff teams that make moves during the postseason not be allowed to keep any player they pick up during that time? i guess. it would be pretty ridiculous to allow playoff teams an extra month to pluck up guys for their keeper roster while the rest of the teams have their hands tied.

so what's the rule? NO team can pick up and keep ANY player once the fantasy regular season is over?

i'm assuming you're forwarding all your self-righteous, "integrity of the game," condescending, "i'm so disappointed in you" business al's way since he has tarnished our great league in the same way i have by breaking your unwritten rule.

i have a great sleeper in mind for the draft next year, but i don't know if i should take him because i wouldn't want to look for an advantage over the other teams.

we should write it down then. because if you say i can't have him even though i clearly did nothing against the rules (though it was apparently against your unwritten rule), it smacks of you retroactively applying a random rule simply because you don't like me. if that's how you want to come off, go ahead and take him off my roster. sorry, but dumping players you have no intention on keeping on weaker teams to pillage their draft picks is the biggest example of exploiting a loophole i can possibly think of. you're trading a free agent. but it's not against the rules (much like picking up EY was not against the rules) so life goes on.

Here's a better counteroffer: You start playing by the same rules as the rest of us without whining about it and I'll promise never to mention the name Ben Sheets in this league again. counter-counteroffer. you show me what rule i violated by picking up eric young jr and i'll give you ben sheets, eric young jr and season 1 of undercover boss on dvd. that's pretty fair.

ps - if anybody's whining about not getting their way, it's you and robert. i picked up a minor leaguer while the mlb season was still going on. there is no rule against it (at least there wasn't when i did it), so i get to keep him. you're the ones whining about it, not me. you seem to want to establish a system where rules are retroactively created solely to punish me. if that makes you feel better, then we can do it that way.

and why wouldn't i want to pick up a minor leaguer after my season was over to keep for next year? either the season is over for purposes of roster moves after your fantasy team is out of it or it's not.

if we want to talk about preventing the abuse of loopholes that occur after the season is over, let's talk about teams trading players they have no intention of keeping for draft picks. after all, this actually occurs after the season is over, both the fantasy season and the mlb season. that seems like a much bigger deal than me picking up a minor leaguer during the season.

by the way, you guys sure wanted to follow the letter of the law when it came to ben sheets. i don't see anyone quoting rules in this situation.

if the points my players are scoring right now are still counted against my cap, i don't know how you can say my season is "over."
