  1. lol, weren't those "reports" that he was all but gone provided by kapman?
  2. i hope isu doesn't rush the floor tonight when they stomp missouri.
  3. if you live your life keeping your opinion to yourself with respect to celebrity rape cases, the rest will just take care of itself.
  4. that seems like an odd one rule to live by.
  5. that's very honorable of you. you're a real sportsman.
  6. yeah, i don't think a three paragraph article on a website is enough to convict.
  7. yeah, after seeing all the comprehensive evidence laid out as it has been, i tend to agree.
  8. zambrano must have been a worse clubhouse cancer than actual cancer.
  9. why does michigan's fat kicker false start on every fg attempt?
  10. Matt Garza -vs- Prince Fielder - 9AB, 3H, 3 2B, 4RBI, 1BB, 2K (vs - Cubs - 225 AB, 65H, 21 2B, 12 HR, 38 RBI, 50BB, 54K, .289/.427/.551 & .978 OPS) Albert Pujols - 9AB, 2H, 1 2B, 1RBI, 2BB (vs - Cubs - 311AB, 94H, 22 2B, 26 HR, 61 RBI, 53BB, 34K, .302/.406/.624 & 1.030 OPS) I don't think that the loss of Pujols and Fielder from the NLC is going to affect Garza as much as it is going to help the Cubs lose two big thorns in their side. oh come on
  11. so because they need a lot of offense they shouldn't try to get any offense. ok.
  12. AND AND he's watching the iowa game at some restaurant in the suburbs tonight. i mean, what an absolute dream day of football and santorum.
  13. REPRESENT. also, i didn't travel to nyc for the game, but i think a pretty darn good consolation prize is watching the game with rick santorum at buffalo wild wings in ames. SIGN ME UP.
  14. HE'S DONE IT BEFORE
  15. i have an abundance of exempt starting pitchers available... hanson kennedy ogando minor wells also have josh johnson, who would be easy to keep. would trade hanson/kennedy/johnson for a comparable exempt hitter or guys like minor/ogando/wells for minor leaguers or draft picks.
  16. no, no, no, the cubs farm system is a horrendous barren wasteland and their big league team is riddled with 15 of the worst contracts in baseball that all last until 2020.
  17. good lord in heaven if a team in a huge market with a $100 mil+ payroll and a ton of expiring contracts seriously is planning on punting the next two seasons, i'm going to murder someone.
  18. wow. the cubs are really hoping there are a lot of ticket buyers with this attitude. unreal. Do you disagree? I just don't see the Cubs having much chance of competing before 2016 unless they buy some impact players in free agency prior to that time. yes, i agree. if the cubs don't sign a single good free agent in the next five offseasons, they may not be good. wow. My original post that you quoted was the result of answers I received from others about whether the Cubs would be players in the free agent market next offseason. The responses were negative to being involved in free agent signings next offseason. If the Cubs aren't involved next year, I don't know what would make anyone think they would be after that. Again, it's not like there is going to be a big infusion of talent from the system in 2013 that would make 2014 look all that much better. if the cubs aren't going to sign a free agent for the next five years, i'm going to probably find a new team to root for.

  20. wow. the cubs are really hoping there are a lot of ticket buyers with this attitude. unreal. On the other hand, I should definitely shoot up the season ticket list. you'll be right at the top when it comes time to sign castro to an 10 year/$235 mil contract.
  21. wow. the cubs are really hoping there are a lot of ticket buyers with this attitude. unreal.
  22. Looking ahead to next offseason, would you expect the Cubs to sign one or two of the starters available in FA? Why bother, we were a 64 win team last year, and we shouldn't overpay for guys's best years when we won't be good for another 2 seasons? and so on and so on... you can't convince me the cubs wouldn't be competitive in 2013 if they signed fielder today and signed cain/hamels after next season.
  23. my goodness, reading crap like that, you'd think the cubs were saddled with 14 bad contracts that last until 2018. the only bad contract they have after 2012 is soriano's. they shed the contracts of aramis and fukudome this year and will shed zambrano and dempster after 2013. it is patently absurd to claim the cubs have to "blow up" the entire organization and start over. they have ONE bad long term contract and a payroll of like $120 mil. ONE. give me a break. if theo cannot "rebuild" around soriano's bad contract, that's pretty disappointing.
