  1. Here and ready to pick first.
  2. I wouldn't this year. Reportedly, one of the factors influencing his decision to join the Cubs was that he WOULDN'T have to play CF. Let him get a full season of MLB experience under his belt first before considering moving him to a position he doesn't want to play.Fukudome is surely smart enough to realize that adding someone like Holliday is better for the Cubs than Fukudome staying in right. Yeah, pretty much. Obviously Hendry would have to ask Kosuke first and if he didn't like the idea then not go ahead with it, but if Kosuke was receptive to the idea that would make one hell of an offense. And the defense I don't think would get much worse but the offense would go from a very good to great offense to a legendary one. Okay, I'll stop dreaming.
  3. As crazy as it sounds, I would like to see if Fukudome would agree to move to CF. He's played amazing in RF. Best since the Hawk. But if he would agree to that and Soriano would agree to move to RF then I'd love to see Matt Holliday in a Cubs uniform. He's supposedly available. I'd give up anyone for him. Pie, Hill, Vitters. Whatever. Go for it. Imagine this lineup: RF Soriano CF Fukudome 1B Lee 3B Ramirez RF Holliday C Soto 2B DeRosa SS Theriot That's amazing. It's a freakin allstar team lineup. Holliday is the best hitter of the bunch and should probably be 3rd, but Lou might not wanna move out DLee. Lineup construction doesn't matter all that much to me so it's fine. Now I know I'm just high from the Harden trade and this will never happen, but I can dream. Realistically, we'll probably just add a lefty reliever and maybe a bat for the bench. I'd like any of Holliday, Burnett, Hudson, Bradley, Bay, or even Bonds though.
  4. I'd be OK with Harden, too. What about Cliff Lee or Aaron Cook? I worry about Lee keeping it up. My list of acceptable aquisitions includes Harden, Cain, Cook, Hudson, and Burnett. Some of those would be long shots. I also wouldn't mind buying low on Ian Snell in addition to one of those guys if the Pirates decide to make another horrible trade with us.
  5. The Cubs offense is better the Brewers WITHOUT Soriano. As far as (b) goes, that spot will be occupied by the Phillies or Mets. The Mets aren't that good. For the wild card they are. Stack them up against the Brewers and who would you take? Starters? Maybe a slight edge to Milwaukee. Pen? Mets, easily. Offense? Mets. WHAT?
  6. Vitters over Wieters had nothing to do with drafting best player available. At the time, we did not know if Geo was for real. Also, Ramirez is going to be holding down 3B for awhile so Vitters wasn't drafted based on need.
  7. If I was the Brewers I'd give up Gamel or Escobar or whoever is needed and get Rich Harden.
  8. I really don't want to face the Brewers in the playoffs
  9. Who would be the 4th? Veal? Cedeno, Gallagher, Veal, and Vitters? I do it. Not that I care much, but who would take over as backup SS?
  10. A walk would be nice too. Has FOX been doing this all game? Just got home from work a little bit ago.
  11. Not enough for Beltran and maybe too much for Burnett IMO. I don't think Burnett is gonna cost as much as you think. He's been injured a decent amount in Toronto and has put up ERAs in the high 3s and now high 4s. He got paid a lot to be an ace and hasn't been since he arrived there. I think they wouldn't mind getting out of his contract and picking up a couple good prospects. I guess it really matters what Hill's value is. Right now it's likely real low and your offer is probably about right on for Burnett.
  12. Harden plz. And pray that he can stay healthy for 2 months.
  13. This. Just imagine: LF Soriano RF Fukudome 1B Lee 3B Ramirez CF Beltran C Soto 2B DeRosa SS Theriot Sick. On the other hand, pitching wins in the playoffs and I think the upgrade from Marquis to Sabathia/Burnett/Harden is greater than Edmonds/Johnson to Beltran.
  14. Sarcasm detector is having trouble on this one.
  15. Probably. But that one wasn't really his fault. Not much he could do there. Yeah there was. He could have, ya know, not ran to third.
  16. That's pretty freakin funny. SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP!
  17. There is a decent chance that Fukudome was doing that on his own.
  18. Wow. I was just gonna say please don't sac bunt, but it worked out well. Still though...don't sac bunt. Just pull the ball.
