  1. You are all nuts. Yes, he walks too many guys, but he makes up for it by not allowing hits. As someone else mentioned, he's been much better lately at not walking as many guys. He only walked 6 guys since June 26 (15ip) until the Marlins series. He's fine where he is. Marmol at his worst is still better than most of the options we currently have.
  2. Too bad we didn't hold onto J.R. Smith
  3. Oh, I would welcome Shaq too. But Shaq isn't a long-term move. I was basically hoping to take care of the team long-term this offseason. Bosh Noah Salmons Gordon Rose Add a nice 2-3 for the rotation, draft a decent 4/5 this year, and a couple guys here and there. Sounds like a terrific plan to me
  4. Let's put it this way. After I got out of the Hawks game on monday night, I immediately drove to a random Wrigleyville bar (Rebel, not that this matters). Upon my entering the bar almost 45 minutes after the game had ended, my friends (7 of them) orchestrated a 35-40 person chanting session/high five line for me and the girl that went to the game with me, followed by everyone in the bar taking multiple shots together. Then everyone proceeded to watch the highlights on CSN and crap themselves all over again. If you go to ANY decent bar, there will be people going nuts over the Blackhawks game. I guarantee it. Pick a bar you like and don't worry about whether its a hockey bar This is so true. This city is going crazy over hockey. I was at this shitty bar last monday because they sponsor our softball team and everyone in there was going nuts. The city just can't get enough of the hawks right now. Maybe its mostly fair weather fans, but with the way the ownership screwed over the "casual fan" years ago, it's understandable. I think blackhawk fever is here to stay. Pick any bar, and it's gonna be rowdy as hell. I wish I wasn't gonna be in Alaska this week.
  5. How much less are you talking? The price on the ticket is 40 or 42 I believe and 50 with fees. I'm assuming they don't even take into account all the fees I paid. So are we talking about 20 per ticket? 30? What's your best guess? I had 2 extras ($45 face) for tonight's game. Asked 2 different brokers outside the ballpark what they would give me for them. First broker said he wasn't interested, second offered me $5 each. Obviously, the rain tonight was killing the demand for tickets. Best I've ever gotten from one of the brokers out there was about half of face. Be advised that selling tickets in the area around Wrigley Field requires a brokers' license..... even if you are trying to sell them for face value or less !!!! Craigslist and/or StubHub are the best ways to go in my opinion. Didn't know that about requiring a brokers' license. The tix are down to $30 a piece on stubhub and still nothing. That would lose me $80 and I'm still getting no bites. Oh well. Looks like I'm losing big on this one.

  7. Yeah its possible. It's also possible if you go early enough to sell to a ticket broker in their stores. They won't offer face though. You might be able to propose a trade - those tickets for (worse) tickets to another game. If you are trying to sell tickets for over face outside Wrigley and aren't a licensed broker, you will very likely get a ticket from a cop if they catch you, and they do have undercover cops at a lot of games pretending to buy tickets. I'm definitely not looking to sell for over face. At this point I'd be ecstatic with $10 less than face per ticket, but thanks for the advice. I am going to be getting there 2 hours before gametime at least, so I'll maybe just try to sell to a broker so I don't have to deal with it. Also, I've had great luck in the past posting tickets on Craigslist. It never hurts to put them up there with a phone number or email address. In fact I would go do that right now no matter what just to add more chances that someone bites on them. They're already on craigslist and stubhub. thanks for the advice though. Hopefully i have some luck through some route tomorrow.

  9. getting desperate over here... anyone ever have any luck selling tickets outside wrigley before the game?
  10. Is it ok to drop him yet in a 12 team league? I don't really know who I'd pick up, but he's just really pissing me off.
  11. Hahahah. I have never seen this. Awesome.
  12. If anyone wants tickets to tomorrows game I have 4 available. Section 110, row 12. Really good seats. At this point I'm fine with taking less than face value. Face is $40 each (was $200 for all 4 plus fees). Send me an offer. Best offer wins. I'll also split into pairs if you only want 2. Don't be shy, PM me your offers. I'll meet you before the game or drop them off tonight if you live close enough to me. I'll be at the game tomorrow in the bleachers, so meeting up beforehand is no problem. Thanks! (And thanks to nsbb for permission to post this)

  14. I havent said anything with all the moves made in the offseason, but it's time. This organization has no idea what the hell it is doing.
  15. weird interview.
  16. I really wish we could go back then and trade Deng when his value was sky high. I think we could have gotten a superstar for him and an expiring after 06-07. ](*,)
  17. I haven't been able to post anything since the loss last night, but here are some of my thoughts. These 2 teams were about as even matched as I've ever seen 2 teams. Great series. Wish it ended different, but at least it was entertaining as hell. I think the Bulls would have had a good chance of beating Orlando (and then getting destroyed by the Cavs). We would have needed Miller to play a big role shooting outside to get Dwight away from the basket, but it would have been possible. I don't think the Celtics have much of a chance against the Magic though. I could be wrong, but I think this series took a lot out of an old team that practically has no bench. I'm on the fence with Gordon. I think he's a fantastic scorer and would love him back. His defense has improved, but I hate that he refuses to fight through picks. It really showed this series. While I'm on the subject of picks, VDN's defensive philosophy of switching on almost every pick is ridiculous. A switch resulting in Noah guarding Allen/Pierce and Hinrich guarding Davis/Perkins is obviously going to get exploited 100% of the time. Stop switching on every pick. If there's anyway to have a starting 5 of Rose, BG, Salmons, Bosh, Noah I want to make it happen. I think that would be a fantastic starting lineup. If we can somehow get rid of Deng, it may be possible, because Hinrich would be easy to deal. Also, I don't think we have enough to trade to get Bosh here this summer. This would be much more likely to happen when Bosh becomes a FA. I mean we can give Thomas, Deng, picks, and expiring contracts, but I'm not sure how much that helps the Raptors though. If BG walks and you eventually get Bosh, I'm not sure how much I like the lineup of Rose, Salmons, Deng, Bosh, Noah. It's certainly good, but if Deng isn't the player he was a couple years ago, I'm not sure if it would be enough. Defensively, I think it would be great though. I just can't help but think of all the open looks BG would get with a real threat down low in Bosh coupled with Rose's driving ability. All that said, I'm very excited about this team. Rose, although he has flaws in his game right now, looks like the real deal. You have to remember that he's a 20 year old rookie. Noah is a beast on the boards and I think he'll make a good pairing with Rose. Should be a fun summer.
  18. I'm out. Hopefully I come back to SSR crying. Have fun watching the game everyone
  19. as long as the bulls come out on top, i dont care how much of a blowout it is. giving my heart a break would be nice.
  20. Agreed and this should not stop. If the Bulls lose due to Rondo and Davis hitting 18 footers, more power to the Celtics. The key will be getting Perkins in foul trouble again. He's the only thing keeping the Bulls from getting to the basket at will. If the Celts stay big and bring in Scalabrine or Moore, Noah and Tyrus should be able to dominate the offensive boards. If the Celts go small, the Bulls will destroy Eddie House. I thought the Bulls were a lot better without Gordon in the game. And frankly, if he's not shooting well, the Bulls are better without him on the floor. I like Hinrich on Allen. And I agree with everything here. Hopefully Perkins picks up a couple early fouls and stays in foul trouble throughout the game.
  21. I hate vinny, but he finally did make the adjustment late in the game and ran another defender at Pierce to trap him and eventually make Rondo or Big Baby (who apparently developed an 18 foot jump shot in the past 2 weeks) take the shot instead of Pierce. You are right though, they need to play better defense. I don't expect the Bulls to win, but I don't expect them to lose. All I expect is another game that comes down to the end and hopefully the Bulls can pull it out one more time. I hope their youthfulness and bench cancel out the advantage Boston has of "experience" and home court advantage.
