  1. Of course Reed Johnson had to spoil the fun.
  2. So we get to face Sean "I spent 14 years as the Yankees top pitching prospect" Henn.
  3. there just now pulling the guy? even Lou would have pulled him by now. Unless it was Chad Fox. Then hed be good for another inning.
  4. good time for me to get home, better time for Geo to break out of the mini slump.
  5. This would be a great time to give Soto a rest. Zambrano+laughably week opposing lineup=good Blanco day.
  6. YES! The best thing about that we got Ojeda. Awesome way to go into a 7 game stretch vs. the struggling Padres and the uncharacteristically hot Pirates.
  7. Come on Kerry, mothers around the world are counting on you.
  8. Atta boy Ward! Someones going to get an extra doughnut in his feed bag.
  9. this has been an awesome start to the inning. PLEASE capitilize on this.
  10. Its sure is a good thing that Lou chose to put in Marmol with a 5 run lead yesterday.
  11. Reed sure chose a good time for his first home run. And when Felix was coming so close to getting regular playing time. Pity.
  12. I think Reed Johnson used up his seasons supply of mojo on one catch.
  13. That sucked, but couldve been much worse. Surely, we can get a few more runs?
  14. Why does nobody remember how effective Wuertz has been in these types of situations in the past?
  15. He's younger, cheaper, and a better option than both of those two. He'll take his lumps, but getting him experience now will pay off quite well down the road. Plus, he's good enough right now that he'll likely be a better option than Marquis and Lieber right now. Think of it like Pie and Reed Johnson, imo. I'd like to see some evidence that he's better right now, the way Pie is better than Johnson right now. His 2007, translated into MLEs, was average at AA, good at AAA and horrible at the majors. PECOTA has him roughly .2 ERA better than Marquis and about the same worse than Lieber. All in all, I'd put him in the rotation, but it's not a case of a definitively better player sitting like it is with Pie. Im not saying that hes the next Zambrano, Im saying that is he can get another few innings, he deserves another shot. He hasnt been great at the major league level so far, partially because he was used as a reliever, a role hes unfamiliar with. Granted some guys can make the transition, but for some, its tougher. It a completely different routine.
  16. Gallaghers looking beautiful today. Another 2 innings like this should earn him at least 1 more start. I cant imagine a rational major league manager wanting to see more of Marquis or Lieber over that.
  17. I think he just needs a day off. Zambranos next start would be a good time.
