  1. Josh Hamilton has been a 1 man wrecking crew tonight. Just imagine the Cubs had we kept him for ourselves instead of drafting him just to help a rival. Soriano Fuku Lee Ramirez Hamilton Soto Theriot DRo AND The Reds wouldn have Ednison Volquez.
  2. Granted, this is just a pipe dream, as Im sure every other team in baseball would gladly give up multipl top prospects, and better ones than we have to offer, but what if? As dismal of a state as the Giants are in, how desperate are they? Would they be able to give up a sure fire ace for years to come for an entir stable of prospects? Would some combination of: Colvin Cedeno Patterson Murton Hoffpauir Hill Veal Samardzia Marshall Ceda Pawelek do the trick? How many of our top prospects would be be willing to part with?
  3. But the question is, will they? While the Cubs may be the best all around team, how many Cubs players are actually the top in their position? Looking at the seson some other guys are haing, Kozuke and Soto may be the the only Cub posiion players who may deserve to start on the all star team. Berkman over Lee Chipper Jones over Ramirez Burrell over Soriano But on the flip side of the coin, we have Theriot over Hanley and DeRosa over Utley for rilz Im asuming you're being sarcastic, but I was mentioning Cubs players who would get consideration for the AS team. Theriot and DRo have been doing there thing, but there are too many in front of them.
  4. I didnt realise how badly Jason Bay owned Big Z, but we have a lot of Duke killers, so it should all even out.

  6. If Zambrano can be Zambrano tommorow and dominate the Bucs, as he should, I'll be far more accepting Sunday when they dominate Marquis, as they should.
  7. I think Sunday may be Marquis' last chance, but then again, Ive been saying that since last July, so who knows.
  8. Is it a sign of the Cubs being good or the NL being bad when the only team I fear in the up coming weeks is the Rays?
  9. St. Louis Cardinals Placed RHP Jason Isringhausen on the 15-day disabled list with a right hand laceration Is that another way of saying he sucks?
  10. If only there were someone we could remove from the 40 man roster *cough*Jason Marquis*cough*
  11. When did the Pirates learn to play baseball? I'm starting to think we might not sweep them this weekend.
  12. I drafted him in all 4 of my leagues. i have him in my league as well Hopefully they'll send him to us for Andres Torres, Bobby Scales, and Les Walrond by the All Star Break.
  13. we better take 3-4 from this rag tag team of misfits. Lucky for us, Willie Mays Hayes and Pedro Serrano are both out with injuries.
  14. Fielder may be one of Boras' hottest clients, and Boras usually likes his big name in big cities, like the Mets, Yanks, Red Sox, Angels, etc. I cant imagine him lettign Prince stay in such a small market unless they offer up A-Rod numbers.
  15. Why are you worried about trade value? Why don't you hope he's a good replacement for the fading Ward? Because hopefully, D-Lee wont be going anywhere soon, and if Hoff really is capable of what hes done in AAA the past few years as well as ST, he could land somewhere as a starter, an opportunity he'll never get with the Cubs. Some with Matt Murton. Hoff is 28. This is as good as it gets. Why can't he be our John Mabry type for a few years? Ward isn't going to last much longer. Murton is different. He is a couple years younger and owns a .295 MLB average. If we didn't talk him down he might have some trade value since, we agree, there is no use for him here. Is it possible if Edmonds continues his decline that we'd get a Soriano-Fukudome-Murton outfield? John Mabry?!? Come on now, give the guy some credit. At least he could be Todd Hollandsworth. If Edmonds doesnt produce, theyd probably go with Pie again. Murton was never much of a right fielder as I recall.
  16. Who the hell is Brauns agent anyway? 45 mil for 8 years? Thats just over 8 mil a year. While Id kill for that, there are guys with a fraction of Brauns potential making 10-12 mil.

  18. Ward has gotten some key hits lately, but I for one am glad that Hoff will finally get a shot. Hopefully he can put up some good numbers and build up some kind of trade value.
  19. Not sure how smart of a move this was by the Brewers at this time, especially after the Prince Fielder off season fiasco. Especially with Prince being a Boras client, they're going to have to give him an equal or greater contract, or more likely let him go to the delight of Brian Cashman. Also, they may as well kiss Ben Sheets good bye, as The Yanks and Red Sox will jump all over him like 2 crack heads on a dead hooker.
  20. http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20080515&content_id=2705204&vkey=news_mlb&fext=.jsp&c_id=mlb Plaease, please, please let him become a mega bust.
  21. Im calling it, if Jim Edmonds starts, thousands of orphans die.
  22. Jim Edmonds pre game routing includes skinning and eating a Yorkie puppy.
  23. Hoff is the only logical replacement for Ward, plus he deserves a shot, as short term as it may be.
  24. He also announced that he in talks with the Alomar brothers. Of course Cedeno and Soto would be opioned to Iowa to make room.
