  1. Just out of curiosity, what is the wost case scenerio? We sign Edmonds for league minimum. Edmonds sucks, and essentially does what Pie would be doing at the plate anyway. Meanwhile, Pie finds his stroke in AAA, and hopefully it translates to the big leagues. Whatever happens, Pie IS the CF of the future. I cant see any scenerio in which Edmonds or even Johnson are part of the 2009 Cubs. Pie fans should be thankful for this. If Hendry were to go out and get a Coco Crisp or another permanant replacement, that would likely mean the end for Pie and hed be traded by July.
  2. The Padres cant be expected to score 3+ runs in 3 consecutive games. We just need a few off of Peavy and we should be good.
  3. Uncle Lou was less-subtly ripping him in the post game interview. Basically, he said every one of his starts are the same with one big inning, and when asked how Lou thinks Marquis is throwing the ball, Lou answered that the hitters are telling him how hes throwing the ball and left it at that. I really think this may signal the end for Marquis.
  4. So does nyone have the Cubs W/L Record in games whenre Lee, Ramirez, and Fukudome combine to give us nothing? Oh well, we lost to a guy we should have beat, so tommorow we need to beat the guy who was supposed to beat us. Welcome Jim Edmonds.
  5. I really want to punch this guy. Nothing against him, but this game is pissing me off, and hes the most annoying thing in site.
  6. Ive always hated them. Never knew why. they always look a lot harder to hit than they really are.
  7. Seriously, we dont have time to let some '80s burn out sing for coke money. We need to get this next inning in while we can.
  8. HAHA!! That made me lawlz. You may not know this, but Lou gets a bonus for every "hold back". Every time he holds back a young player, he gets an additional $100,000. Between Cedeno, Hill, Marshall, and Pie, thats an easy $400,000.
  9. all joking aside, Jason Marquis has been given way too many chances. Hes a horrible pitcher. hes made it clear that he doesnt want to move to the pen, suggesting hed do a lousy job there, and Cotts and Ascenio deserve shots over him. There are teams out there who would have some interest in a guy capable of eating a lot of innings. Wed probably have to eat a lot of salary, but if thats the way it has to be, than thats the way it has to be.
  10. Even if we lose a rain shortened game, something good should come out of it. Hopefully, Lou has finally realised that his team will be much better off without that piece of trash. You cant really send him to the pen, as theres no reason to give him Fox' spot over Cotts or Ascenio.
  11. That rule only applies if the opposing team were to take the lead in the top of the inning. Since they already had it, it wouldnt matter.
  12. No, no Id rather Marquis continue to melt down so we can assure that its his last game on with this team.
  13. The only reason Marquis is still in there must be because Lou doesnt want to risk injure to any of the other pitchers who may be of some use to us.
  14. Our managers a blithering imbecile. I hope that helps.
  15. Marquis and the rain are probably going to team up to give the worst team in baseball a win. You cant DFA the rain.
  16. Maybe Marquis should consider going the Rick Ankiel rout.
  17. Cubs definitely have some more runs in them tonight. We just need to hope that Marquis doesnt.
  18. If there is a God, we've just witnessed Jason Marquis' final inning as a Cub.
