  1. My respect for young Matt Cain is turning into irrational hatred.
  2. On the bright side, as long as the Giants hold on the Cain, we'll never have to face him more than twice, maybe 3 times a year.
  3. Come on Cubs, dont waste what may be Marquis' last quality outing of the season.
  4. When Glendon Rusch defeated Ben Sheets, it lead me to believe that anything in life and baseball is possible.
  5. We have other relievers who have been stuggling worse and for a far longer stretch than Wuertz. In any case, if any pitcher was to be sent down, it should have been for a bat for the bench, not another pitcher who may or not be any more or less effective than the one sent down.
  6. Wuertz was struggling, but I dont see Hart doing any better.
  7. I think even if a minor leaguer is pomoted to the majors, they're still eligible to play in their all star game.
  8. Anyoen remember the short lived Oreo Big Stuff from the late '80s? Good times. Good times.
  9. Its not so much getting carried away as he fills a temporary void. When Reed Johnson starts, Cedeno is our main righty off the bench, and it would be nice to have one who MIGHT be able to hit a baseball. But like I said above, it doesnt matter. He can't hit lefties, and kills righties, meaning basically he is another lefty that happens to hit from the right side of the plate. He doesn't help us match up any better than Daryle Ward does. He still has 6 HRs and an .836 OPS vs. Lefties. Thats not horrible.
  10. Dubois managed to hit another HR. Sure did. He was slugging .818 as an I Cub going into this game. If only he was 5 years younger.
  11. Come on dude, you cant Cob them just yet. Only if they lose 2 of 3.
  12. They deserve bragging rights. Splitting a 4 game set against the rotting corpse of the 2007 NL Champs is no easy task.
  13. Mark Teahen just hit an in the parker.
  14. Hey, guess what The Creature just did. Hint: Someone has a souvenier and theres another run on the board.
  15. Micah Hoffpauir and Jason DuBois are the new Jason Dubois and David Kelton. For the love of God, The Creatures SLUGGING .818. I know hes only been there half the season, but why could he not do this when there was a chance of him having a major league career? if he was 5 years younger, hed be one hell of a trading chip.
  16. Nope, just another day at the office for Hoff.
  17. Jason Marquis has very nice stats vs the Giants, and Cain will not be doing to us what he did last time. We've scored 5+ runs in each of our last 4 games, and dont plan on stopping.
  18. ...If the Cub fans voted against Dye...how did Corey Hart make it? And what classy fans. Just when the crosstown is long over and behind us, and I go back to not caring about the White Sox, they're imbecile fans come up with another conspiracy about the man(The Cubs) keeping the little guy(The Sox) down. And Jermaine DOES deserve to be on the All Star team. Its the Sox fans own fault however that they failed to get him in both on the regular ballot and the final player ballot.
  19. If this is true, Bonds has clearly been black listed. Theres no way some of these teams wouldnt want to give Bonds a try. Hes 44, but last year, he proved he can still hit the ball.
  20. lol, best rival fan poster on NSBB Keep in mind, your average Brewer fan takes up 2.5 seats.
  21. Someones bound to grab him up at one point, as they would essentially be paying half of the league minumium for him.
  22. The fact is, were still 4 games in first, in argueably the most competitve division in the league, and thats after going through a hell stretch in which we went over .500.
  23. The Brewers must run into Volquez as we missed him, so thats promising.
  24. Note to Jim Hendry: I know hes "low risk", but that doesnt mean you HAVE to have him.
