I don't think 1 player makes a 15.5 difference in the standings. The Brewers are much better top to bottom than the Reds. before the fire sale, the Reds were not a bad looking team on paper. When they had Dunn, Griffey, Phillips, and Keppinger, they were an OK looking team, and add the fact that they seemed like they actually had some pitching for once. Who knw that Harang would fall off like he did.

The Marlins happen to be that 1 NLE team Id just assume not win the WC. Just as soon. You'd rather face the D'Backs than the Marlins? I think he was saying that the Marlins stand a smaller chance of winning the WC compared to the Mets or Phils. I would much rather see the Mets or Phils win the WC vs. the Marlins. And the way things would probably stack up, if the Marlins did win the WC, guess who would have to play them. That's the whole point. If the WC comes out of the East, we avoid the D'Backs for at least the first round. We definitely dont want to deal with them. With Dunn and Johnson, they're pretty much built to beat us. But then again, we would likely have home field advantage in that first series.

With Braun out of the Brewers lineup, they dont look much better than the Reds. They just happen to have lucked out that they play the Natspos and the Badres while hes out.

This isnt really a peave, but I always thought that a batter should be able to steal 1st on a wild pitch even if it werent strike 3.

If the Rangers could just get some pitching, they'd be a damn good team. Downright scary. Theres rumors that they'll be persuing Sabathia pretty hard in the offseason, although hes made it very clear that he wants to play for one of the LA teams.

When a pitcher who coughs up a lead turns around and gets the win. Thats just wrong. Defensive indifference. A steals a steal. By the same rule, if a ball is hit into the outfield, and the outfielder doesnt bother going after it, should it not be considered a base hit?

The Marlins are even more of a non factor for the division. Yeah, Id rather face the Cards then the Brewers if it came down to it, but I cant see that happen. Wouldnt you rather they be far off in the rear view mirror than in a 3 way race? Who said anything about the Marlins? What do they even have to do with anything? We're not in a 3 way race. The Cardinals are dead (as far as the Cubs are concerned). Go ahead and quote me and ridicule me in two months if I'm wrong. I don't expect to be. The only locked up playoff spot belongs to the Los Angleas Angels of Annaheim.
