  1. This cant be a good sitution no matter what. If he stays in, we'll wonder why the hell they're keeping him in after that with a 5 run lead, but if he comes out, we'll be freaking out all night.
  2. Josh Vitters might just have to grow up in a hurry.
  3. Please get him in. We dont want them chipping away at the lead.
  4. Worry about Sunday on Sunday? Yeah, that's not how you manage a season. Well its looking like were going to need some innings from the bullpen today. This is starting to look like that game vs. the Pirates early on when Lilly had a 7 run lead and he couldnt get out of the 3rd or 4th.
  5. Lilly wont win it. Its time to go to the pen. Maybe give him 1 more inning and see how he looks.
  6. Does Lilly realize that hes getting knocked around by a team thats 1 player better than the Nationals, and that 1 player hasnt done anything yet? Maybe we should just put in Marshall and worry about Sunday on Sunday.
  7. Offense: more runs please. TLR: get your act together.
  8. Is it me or is Lilly at his worst when he gets an early lead?
  9. This team should NOT be scoring runs Ted.
  10. I know Im insanely late, but  at Omar Infante at cleanup. Thats like us putting Cedeno there. The Braves have already scored 1 more run than they should have, so please just shut em down Teddy.
  11. Nice to see the blind dog keep his bone. Now I can go back to not caring what the Padres do.
  12. So if Peavy can hang in there another inning, it'll be Trevor Time for the Brew Crew.
  13. The Blind Dog Gets a Bone! The Blind Dog Gets a Bone!
  14. You better not be toying with me.
  15. Dont be so sure. Yost would sooner watch Sheets arm fall off than let this game slip away.
  16. god bless the royals. If there was an opposite to the World Series, the Royals and the Nationals would be it.
  17. Wow if I was Sheets I'd be super pissed they threw me that lineup against Peavy Of course they still will score 7 runs, regardless It is pretty considerate of them to stoop to the Padres level. They were going to do the same for the Nationals for 1 game, but they didnt have room on the 40 man for enough of their Single A players.
  18. Makes that Wild Card spot look pretty appealing.
  19. I don't want 2 of our lower half hitters hitting 1-2. I'm fine with how the lineup is now. It's hard to screw up a lineup as consistent as we have. What does 'lower half hitters' mean? As in not one of the best 4 hitters on our team. Riot should hit either 1 or 2. He is a single machine. No, hes married.
  20. Cubs fans as a whole really are a paranoid breed. We wont feel completely comfortable until that magic number is at 0. Santo is a perfect example. We can be up by 5 with 2 out and 0 on in the 9th, and the 3rd batter walks, he starts to panic.
  21. If Hoff was 23 or 24, they wouldnt be able to get him up fast enough. Hes been solid the past few seasons, though hampered by injury, but nowhere near the AAA juggernaut hes been this season. Im just saying he deserves a shot this year, and if he proves himself, hes given that first bat off the bench job next year instead of overpaying some wash up to do it. I know hes ancient for a prospect, but Im surprised that no teams inquired about him at the deadline.
  22. Sam Fuld might be de-rostered too. I could see someone claiming Fuld. Not as much for Fox or Harben. Remember when Hendry deemed Fuld "untouchable"? I still say it was part of his master plan to try and get other teams interested in an otherwise useless prospect. I do http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a30/Halman/Cubs/untouchables.jpg Thats hilarious.
  23. Is he again becoming our fair haired child as Brenley likes to say?
  24. Uhh yeah, it was hilarious enough when people were following the Astros earlier in the year. Following them now when they're about 28 games behind us is just nonsensical. Although so is following the Cards. (4%) I wonder if the Mets fans were following the Phillies this time last year.
