  1. Going for the Cubs, it will be Mr. Ryan Dempster http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2321/2492430513_018738ba84.jpg Opposing him, will be the god forsaken Florida Marlins and Chris Volstad. http://webzoom.freewebs.com/hofautographmaster/Volstad.jpg Volstad is best known for never giving up home runs to guys not named Aramis. However, being in a pitcher friendly park, were going to have to do what we havnt done moch of in this series, and score runs without knocking it out of the park.
  2. Lets just win tommorow and hope a hurricane levels this miserble stadium Monday. Someone get on tommorows game thread so we can forget about this one. Whose up? I am? Alright then, I'll get right on that.
  3. That was a very unenjoyable game indeed. Fontenot never gos after those pitches on the outside corner, and hes always shocked when theyre called strikes. As good as the offense has been lately, I guess they deserved the day off.
  4. Now would be as good a time as any for Lee to come through.
  5. Our pitching has been sick, sick, sick all night. Especially Shark and Marmol. We really should be wining this one.
  6. Yeah, we get it dancing fat guys. They're just as stupid when they're called the Matdors.
  7. It seems like whenever the Cubs come to these pitcher friendly parks, they compeltely forget how to play small ball, and its almost like their challenging the park itself.
  8. Well this game has been less than enjoyable.
  9. Okay, i've got a stat for you to find. What's the cubs record when Fred does PBP on NSBB?? CUBS are 25-15 when Hornkohl provides half inning recaps on NSBB.... 50-32 when he doesn't Go CUBS !! I hope you made that up. If not, you are crazy insane Trust me, I doubt he made it up.
  10. Seriosuly, their pitching has not looked all that good this evening. We've been letting the Fish off the hook(no pun intended)(OK, pun intended) all evening, and it needs to stop. Go get some damn runs.
  11. Nice. Now strike out Cantu so he can go back to scaring little kids.
  12. Marshall looks hot. If he can keep it up, I really dont see them shutting us out, especially with what we have waiting on the bench.
  13. Lord help us. At least we'll have some nice hardware off the bench if it comes down to it.
  14. If this is the case, I don't understand why we don't just start Marquis on short rest(with a limited pitch count) and have Marshall ready to back him up. Keeps guys in their familiar roles. There's a good chance raw is right and maybe Lou is looking at Marshall as potentially starting. That certainly explains the odd move tonight. Harden looked absolutely putrid, and still gave up 0 runs on 1 or 2 hits, so that should be a clue as to how great he is. Problem is, theres nobody who really deserves to lose their spot in the rotation, even Marquis. And of course, something like this always prompts the weekly is something wrong with Harden panic outbreak. Harden hasn't been very sharp in his last two starts since that 110 pitch outing in Milwaukee. 4 runs against Houston and 5 BBs and only 2 Ks in Atlanta. Zambrano hasn't been very sharp in his last two outings either. OMG OUR TWO ACES ARE LOSING IT SEASON OVER Zambrano doesn't have Harden's injury history I'm not saying Harden is hurt, but that 7 inning game in Milwaukee was his first extended start with the Cubs and since then he hasn't been as good. Could just be a coinidence.
  15. The reason is simple. I completely forgot about him. More importantly, why do you have Soto batting twice?

  17. Lee is supposed to be getting tonight off with Ward playing 1B so I don't know if Lou would be want to put a lineup out there without Lee or Ramirez. Theriot Fontenot Soriano Edmonds Soto Ward DeRosa Johnson Still looks like a damn fine lineup. However, it would probably be more like Soriano Theriot DeRosa Edmonds Soto Johnson Ward Fontenot
  18. Im equally intrigued to see what Edmonds could do at cleanup.
  19. lol yea, it's terrible right now btw, that second bolded part is a terrible argument and it's one of the reasons why people have continued to do stupid things throughout history. So your saying it's just a big coincedence that every manager in the modern era of the game has batted their best hitters 3-5? And nothings terrible right now, Im just saying the rather than take D-Lee and his great defense but mediocre but not horrible offense should not be taken out of the lineup, just moved down, unless its a Sammy thing where the manager is scared to take him out of his comfort zone, and I cant see Lou worrying about that.
  20. I dont know about docking play time, but he certainly shouldnt be a #3 hitter. If only Soriano could do what he does from the 1 spot at the 3 spot, all would be good, and Derrek could be a number 2, 5, or 6. I know some posters here seem to think that where a batter bats in the lineup doesnt matter, but unless they know somethign that pretty much every manager in history of the game doesnt, it means something.
  21. Thats what the Brewers get for bullying the hapless Reds, Nats, and Pads.
  22. 2 down. It all comes down to Jaon Kendall.
