  1. Didnt we smack Moehler around and call him Shirley the last time we faced him after he owned us the first 2? As far as today goes, We can beat Wandy. I dont care how good he was at home last year, this is a new team, out to win. Lets do it.
  2. Marmol just didnt want the new guy to have to face C Lee on his first night on the job.
  3. Im glad hes OK. Now get him out of the game before he hurts himself for real.
  4. no one wants to come in here after you guys ruined these threads last season this Come on now, lets just enjoy the game. If same ass hot reliever blows the game, then we can all attack each other and get the thread locked.
  5. Where are CSN getting these random numbers? Theriot did not bat .229 last year.
  6. Hes got to get another inning. Hes not showing any signs of slowing.
  7. I think El Caballo forgot hes playing against the Cubs.
  8. Absolutely remarkable .300+ avg for Pudge. Roids dont even enter into it.
  9. What was with the last season stats graphic for Fontenot at his last AB? Is said .240 acg with a .287 OBP. Not even almost.
  10. What happened to Chad Fox? Hes not on the 40 man or the Iowa roster. I know he was a non roster invitee, but I though he was going to accept an assignment to Iowa.
  11. What happened to Chad Fox? Hes not on the 40 man, hes not on the Iowa roster. I know he was just a non roster invitee, but I though he was going to accept an assignment to Iowa.
  12. We got to get the little guy across the plate here.
  13. Good job by Z. I was almost sure Pierre, I mean Gathright, I mean Bourn was going to cross the plate.
  14. Cant blame Tejada for trying there. He must of thought it was some other catcher behind the plate.
  15. If Z can pick up where he left off when he last faced these guys, this ball game is ovah.
  16. Oswalt, especially. Im pretty indifferent toward the Astros until the 9th inning. There are few players in baseball I despise more than Ole Crazy Eyes and his goofy little happy dances. I just hope Soriano hits a go ahead home run off of him and stands there admiring it for a half hour in one of the games.
  17. Not a lot of people doubted that the Tigers would win the AL Central last year. That the Yankees or Red Sox would win the AL East last year. That the Mets would win the NL east last year. Im not saying that pound for pound were not the best team, becasue we are. I am saying that you never know whats going to happen over the course of the next 6 months. If the season was to go by the best team on paper, only the AL Central would be up in the air, and the Yankees, Red Sox, Angels, Cubs, Dodgers, Mets, and Phillies could just rest up for October.
  18. alright, you want to talk stats wise, or do you want to talk actual team wise performance...? stats wise...yes...the cubs have the best rotation and best lineup... however...if harden should go down...it wouldn't shock me to see the cubs falter...and i think it takes away any advantage we currently have in the division... this team has some serious question marks right now 2nd base...question mark center field...question mark right field...high potential question mark short stop...can he do it again? 1st base...will he get locked into his head again? harden...how many times does he step on the mound? patton...? vizciano...? The Cards have question marks everywhere with the exception of 1st Base, and their number 2 starter.
  19. That could be a nice looking rotation. Harang, Volquez, Cueto, Arroyo, Owings, with Baily in AAA. However, all 6 of them have their question marks attached. Also, beyond Phillips, Bruce, and Votto, they're offense is far from fearsome. If Milwaukee can end up landing a front end starter, as they did last year, they'll be a threat again. with Unknown Ace, Gallardo, Parra, Bush, Suppan, especially with what their offense is capable of. However, theyd probably have to give up Gamal, and with Fielder probably skipping town after his contracts up in 2 years, they'll probably want to hang on to him.
  20. The Cards rotation of Carpernter, Wainwright, Lohse, Wellemyer, Pinearo is decent, but nothing to fear. A rotation of Wainwright, Lohse, Wellemeyer, Piniero, and ??? is actually rather laughable.
