Geovany Soto-C- Cubs Apr. 9 - 10:24 am et According to the Chicago Sun-Times, the Cubs are bracing for the possibility that Geovany Soto (shoulder) could land on the disabled list. Soto had a similar shoulder issue while he was in Triple-A, and it cost him a little over a week. ''From talking to him, it lasted a week or so [the first time],'' manager Lou Piniella said. ''Let's hope it doesn't. If it's going to be that long, I'm not so sure we can stay with one catcher.'' Koyie Hill filled in Wednesday and Mark Johnson is just a phone call away. Source: Chicago Sun-Times Related: Koyie Hill Im surpirsed that this thread has been started yet. I know were all hoping for the best, but there is a chance that Geo could be headed for a DL stint, be it a short one. If he is, do we really want a catching tandem of Koyie Hill, who looked flat out lost at the plate and 57 year old journeyman catcher Mark Johnson, or is there any chance that theyd bring up Jake Fox. I knoe that his catching skills are sub-sub par at best, but would his offense be worth it? If Geo were put on the 15 day, retroactive to yesterday, it would only be 10 or 11 games were talking about, with Fox maybe catching 2 of them. How much damage could he really do in 2 games?
