  1. If the Astros fall out of it, it makes more sense to trade him to a division rival than any other team. Tejada helps the other team like the Cubs for 2009, but then the loss of prospects hurts the Cubs every year after 2009 (when Tejada is probably not re-signed). Since the Astros wouldn't care about 2009 at that point, it's in their best interest to weaken one of their division rivals for upcoming seasons. Even if the Cubs won it all in 2009 because of that move, why would the Astros care? They weren't going anywhere anyway. I dont think its about weakinng the rivals, if a team is out of it, it doesnt really matter anymore if he goes to someone in or out of their own division. You just want the best offer possible.
  2. It always seems to come back to the stupidity of trading DeRosa in the first place. DeRosa over the past 28 days: .308/.378/.508/.886 His current season OPS is .777 and rising. But he hits from the wrong side of the plate, and in the end, thats all that matters.
  3. Hopefully, Aramis will be beack in 3 weeks or so. Hopefully. That being the case, unless hes incredibly cheap, Im no longer interested in Atkins, whod be a project at this point. He has yet to crack the mendoza line, so wed be better off with Branya, who we could get some use out of when Rams back.
  4. You're mad. Trade a player with Brauns talent whose making what, 5 million a year and meanwhile probably losing Fielder, Weeks, and Hardy in the next 2 years? If you dont mind going back to the Brewers of the 90's/early 00's, more power to you, but I wouldnt suggest moving Braun.
  5. So from what I gather, Brett Jackson is a "5 tool player". Does that sound about right? Then is it a pretty safe bet that hes riding the Orioles bench by 2013?
  6. The good thing is win, lose, or draw, all the important games are in the early afternoon so I can do something constructiveish with my evening. Who knows, maybe Hendry will too
  7. It seems like the Brewers have a lot of that recently. Yostgot in that fight with Estrada. Fielder and Parra. Fielder reportedly hating the team in general.
  8. Maybe if he waits until hes washed up and in his 40's or 50's he can get a far more entertaining VH-1 dating show with ex strippers and fat stuck in the 80's wisconsin chicks. They can call it "Brew of Love"
  9. interesting that you didn't pop in to say this after the last two cub games. So there was this kid, he was about 11, 12 years old. Hed never said a word his entire life. Family thought he was a mute or something. Then one day at dinner, his mom made lasagne, and the kid says holy *expletive* this lasagne really sucks. The family was over joyed, as he finally spoke, and asked him why hes never spoken before, to which the kid replied until now, everythings been satisfactory.
  10. Day game after a night game means forfeit lineup. Fontenot and Fukudome both sat, so they'll start. Bradley started, so hopfully he'll sit. Lineup looks better already.
  11. We got shut down by Wandy, who shuts down everyone at MM and Chris Sampson who we can never really hit. It happens. Im not going to lie though, we really could use another bat in the lineup. Milton could be that bat, but it doesnt look like thats going to happen any time soon.
  12. Hopefully we can pound the tar out of Ortiz tomorrow.
  13. Ryan Braun? nope dont hate him as much not that i like him, but he gets a little bit of conditional jew love Only half. Youk and Kinsler, and apparently Aaron Poreda are the real deal.
  14. It seems more often than not when we let our pitcher get an at bat and another inning when he really shouldnt have, he gets knocked around a bit the next half inning. Hopefully the same goes for Wandy.
  15. ??? I'm guessing he's reacting to what he was just told about Bradley. That hes bad and injury prone? But we knew that.
  16. maybe we should try to trade Bradley and Miles for DeRosa and re sign Edmonds and pretend the off season never hapened.
  17. Hopefully they can have him start at 3rd every day to at least make it worth while.
  18. I remember a time when that wouldnt have caused milk to spew out of my nose.
  19. Milton Bradley just left Doug Dascenzo, Luis Salazar, and Jeff Blauser on base.
  20. I didnt realise that we in sole posession of 2nd place by mere percentage points. Heres to hoping that the Brewers stay mediocre and the Cardinals continue to crash and burn.
