i like to think that magic potion is code for fists full of steroids. I was thinking black tar heroin + speed. They pitch damn good, but it takes a while to convince them they weren't really playing pink elephants after the game. I refuse to believe that drugs had anything to due with turning bunch of career journeymen like Joel Pineiro, Kyle Lohse, Jeff Weaver, Jeff Suppan, Woody Williams, and Ryan Franklin and a long washed up John Smoltz into superstars, not to mention takig Chris Carpenter whose never been healthy inot a guy who can pitch 100 PPG without a sweat. And then theres the Its pure Dave Duncan. No pixie dust. no mystery cream in a paper bag marked Cemens that nobody else is around near. And its only logical that as soon as the leave St Lou, they turn back into garbage, right Jeff, Jeff, and Woody.

In this type of case with Iowa out of it and Tenn in the race, would they ever send guys from Iowa down to Tenn to help out? Ask again when Iowa is actually out of it. They aren't. They're 2 games behind with over a week remaining in the season. Sorry, I meant it more hypothetically, if Iowa were out of it, would they do such a thing?

Im officially back to where I was pre 2003 where I'll just sit back and watch the games and not worry about the standings or post season implications. Hopefully next year I can get out that state of mind.

Ive always thought it goofy that a starter has to go 5 full to earn a win but a reliever can hypothetically come in and throw 1 pitch and get the win, and more so, a reliever can blow the lead, and then his team comes back and scores a few and he can get a win.

Just let them have him. No need to get anything back for a mediocre pitcher. Just free up a spot for somebody like Stevens. They got until Monday. There's no reason to let them just have him right now. Thats 2 more games Heilman can pitch in. Thats reason enough. Oh, thought RedFlash meant Harden. I agree Heilman needs to go now. Unless the Twins are offering something steller, theres no reason to trade him, especially considering the 2 draft picks we can get if we dont hang on to hiom next year, which Id like to do.

I think if there going to use replay, they should use it for other things. Home runs arent the only time an umpire can change the course of a game with a bad call. It should be like football where they can do it on whatever, but only get a limited amount. I know the game moves slow enough already, but if their going to use replay, thats how it should be.

Not at all close. It was right around the edge of the warning track. LOL Soriano. Seriously why the hell is Soriano even in? Jake Fox has been hitting much better than him all year, and Foxes defense couldnt possible be worse.

I'd prefer he go away. To right field or another team? Other team. He's about to get expensive. I think they got one year left of relative cheapness, but after that I agree he has to be replaced. I have nothing against Theriot, but I agree that if he gets expensive, we should let him fly. If nothing else, maybe Darwin Barney could be a short term replacement dopending how far along Castro, HJ Lee, and LeMahieu are.

Is "enjoy" really the appropriate word here? For me it's rather like enjoying a slot machine on a losing night, almost out of money, knowing it's going to take my last. And I keep on pressing the button. :thumbsup:
