  1. according to weather.com its supposed to rain all day long into the morning.
  2. This is just entertaining at this point. When will the learn that Cubs closers can never pitch in a non sace situation.
  3. Good thing that 8th inning happened. Lets see if we can hold on to the lead.
  4. [expletive] Carlos, I just want to go to bed.
  5. You do all realise that were not going to get any runs out of this, right? Just making sure.
  6. at least he did something right, although Guz may as well have done that.
  7. And another one bites the dust
  8. All yours. I'll take the one on the bottom. :stickman: Are they going to be able to get this game in tonight? Raining over the whole county now with more coming. Hopefully not. I never thought Id be hoping for rain to save us from the [expletive] Nationals.
  9. Of all these teams, Id have expected all these teams but the Cubs, Mets, Indians, and maybe Brewers to be there.
  10. 1. Pujols, Holliday, Carpenter, Wainwright, Ludwick, DeRosa, and Molina are all busted for PEDs and given 50 game suspensions. 2. Meanwhile, Joe Mauer, Ryan Braun, Roy Halladay, K Rod, and Hanley Ramirez are all waived by their respective teams and the Cubs make deals for all of them. 3. Cubs win the division. 4. Cubs swept in the 1st round of the playoffs by the Rockies, including a perfect game by Jason Marquis.
  11. There you go, just do it like a chop shop. Break down Miles for spare parts and give them to injured players. Give Aramis his shoulder, Soriano his Knees, Lee his neck, etc.
  12. Maybe what this thread needs is some hot Cubs fans http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn202/theworldofisaac/Chicks/hotcubs.jpg http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x220/batts40/cubsgirl.png http://images.dailyradar.com/media/uploads/ballhype/story_large/2009/04/06/sexy_cubs_fan.jpg
  13. hes definitely playing like he has one up his...you know.
  14. Hypothetically, if it was something career ending, would the Cubs still be responsible for the remainder of his contract or would some kind of insurance take it from there? What are they gonna decapitate from the knee down? I hope he has surgery and is out for the rest of the season so that he'll actually be healthy next year. I think you mean amputate, but yeah, hopefully he'll be healthy next year. Its getting to the point where they may as well shut down Aramis as well. You can still tell hes still in a lot of pain after a lot of those big swings.
  15. Hypothetically, if it was something career ending, would the Cubs still be responsible for the remainder of his contract or would some kind of insurance take it from there?
  16. Moving to #15 could be huge if Ricketts wants to open the checkbook. Go Nats. why not try to sneak in the top 10? Forget that noise, Bryce Harper or bust!
  17. Between Harden and Wells, I think we should be able to take at least 1 from the dreaded Nationals before the weekend series vs. the 1 team thats been more of a disater than we have,
  18. http://msn.foxsports.com/...among-Brewers-on-waivers The Brewers reportedly placed a bunch of players on wiavers. The list is said to include, acording to Brewerfan Trevor Hoffman, Mike Cameron, Braden Looper, Felipe Lopez, and Jason Kendall. They can probably get some decent prospects for most of those guys, especially Cameron and Hoffman.
  19. I think a lot of fans see Milton Bradley as the face of the deconstruction of the 2008 team and automatically blame him, despite the fact that theres a whole list of guys who are more at fault for the failure of this team. Its almost as though the fans are actually booing Jim Hendry when they boo Milton, but since Hendrys not on the field, its as close as they can come. Milton was seen as that final piece to the puzzle when he was signed, and unfortunately, they gave up a more important piece to be able to get him. Im curious to see what type of reception Hendry gets at the Cubs convention this winter.
  20. How do you say "100 years of failure, no amount of money is worth that" in Korean?
  21. Lonely Goat Curse (Lonely Goat Herd) I'm coming up empty thinking of equivalents for Climb Every Mountain and Edelweiss. Kevin Greggs solo: Blow Every Ballgame
  22. Brewers just came back to tie it nup after being down 6-1 going into the 9th, so at least someone besides the Cardinals in this division care if they win or lose. We should be in 3rd or 4th place any day now.
