  1. Starlin would appreciate that this shirt is anti-microbial.... LOL... that shirt is hilarious..... ugh, did Ryan Braun design that eye sore?
  2. These really is an awful year to be so mediocre. If they want to make a playoff run, that would be swell, but if not, Id rather they just call off the season in July, as Aramis, Kosuke, Wood, and Pena, if he heats up should be able to really boost the farm.
  3. Sad to see all those easter eggs from Jackson, and Vitters, but Rebel Ridling is really mashing. Does he project as anything more than a Hoffpauir/Fox/LaHair type, or worse, Blake Lalli? Hes almost 25 years old, but that .404/.474/.692 line sure is pretty, plus hes got a great baseball name. Hes always had solid but not spectacular numbers in the minors, but has always gone largely unnoticed.
  4. At least we'll win games 1 and 3, because thats how this team rolls.
  5. They're playing for letters of recomendation.
  6. I'm not for benching the guy, but I am all for moving him down in the lineup. Soriano and Soto would both be better suited for the 5 spot in the lineup at this point.
  7. Too bad the ones he threw in the 1st inning were god awful.
  8. Miles has done more today then he did in his awful year with the Cubs.
  9. Id say start warming up the pen, but its not like theres anyone in middle releif whose going to do better, and we dont want to waste Marshall, Wood, and Marmol on mop up.
  10. KInf of frustrating how we have a very good lineup aside from having a giant turd cemented in the cleanup spot. He definitely deserves a chance to hear up, but until then, its not like we cant hide him a few spots down and move up Soriano and Soto.
  11. If Pena keeps up this pace, he'll spend next winter pondering offers from the Newark Bears and Schaumberg Flyers.
  12. Whether he deserves it or not, how long before the heat is on Riggins considering pretty much every pitcher aside from the back 3 of the pen have sucked?
  13. I didn't know he had a problem with minorities
  14. The only question left to ask is whether our starting pitching is hilariously bad or depressingly bad.
  15. This could actaually be a really good lineup id Pena can get it together. Not a lot of players in baseball have as much riding on this season as he does.
  16. Yeah, I had that same reaction. I was following the game on my phone, and then gave up once we were down 8-5. I then checked in again when were were 8-7 just as Barney tied the game, but had to get out of the car when we were tied 8-8 in the 8th with Baker up and my phone was dead. I remember thinking why the [expletive] isnt Pena batting here, but looks like it worked out pretty well.
  17. Great to come from behind after letting them do the same, however, if Dempster keeps pitching like he has so far, and as long as 2/5 of our rotation consists of Coleman/misc. junkballers, were going to be in trouble. I am, however encouraged by Samardzjias recent outings, although not going to expect too much out of him. And God bless Starlin Castro.
  18. I don't see this lineup making Ted do much glove slamming, but we can hope.
  19. Basically, Stevens is paying for the fact that the bullpen was taxed due to Colemans inability to get past the 4th inning. Personally, I'd have calledd up Carpenter over Berg or Stevens who are pretty interchangeable.
  20. Rarely will Tampa trade a productive player, but they usually dont have a problem letting FAs walk.
  21. Realistically, how long before he gets bumped to AA? Well, he was the last cut at Tennessee this spring so he's really close. Probably whenever they're ready to promote Dolis to AAA. He may very well fill the void left by Archer. Was Whitenack even on any of the Cubs top prospects list going into this season? I remember hearing bits and pieces about him last year, but not all that much.
  22. I know theres no other games thread, but Marlins pitcher Anibal Sanchez is an inning away from doing something that I wont yet say to the Rockies, although they did manage to score a run. Hint, hes done it once before.
