    I wouldn't worry about Jake. See last year, he ran out of gas when it mattered most. But now that we've all but locked the division up, he's saving his best for October.

    What sucks about following the minors, especially lower levels, is that it's tough to find an injury (or lack there of) update.

    Speaking of lackluster relievers, Alexei Ogando (Braves) and Ryan Webb (Rays) were DFA'd today. Free junk is free junk, as long as you've enough storage.

    In the midst of the worst stretch in relevant memory, I suppose that the board deserves a collective pat on the back for restraining from a knee jerk 'UPGRADE EVERYWHERE!!' reaction. We've come along way.

    I've seen a few peeps say this. What makes the Royals such a nightmare matchup? Nothing; they're just better than the Reds. By a lot. They were a 1st place team until the Indians did the opposite of what the Nationals are doing.

    On the bright side, we have a 3 game set with the Reds coming up while the Cards have 4 with the Royals.

    2-3 against one of the toughest pitchers in the league. Darwin Barney was probably awesome against someone too. Look, not trying to pile on the guy, but does he have a nagging injury or is this is ceiling? When Fowler gets back I'd rather he not bat 2nd in this lineup. Nope, sorry. He's bad now. I know there's the whole .268/.353/.431 31.1 WAR over his first 5 seasons thing, but that was just SSS.
