    What powers do you think he'll have as President that would be a problem? I think he fears that somebody else would be the guy performing GM duties. yes, exactly. But also, its my lack of knowledge as to what duties would be required as Pres, and if they sop up too much of his time, will he have to delegate GM responsibilities to someone of less ability. We need a GM, not a president. Just give him whatever title he wants as long as he does the GM job. Call him Supreme Intergalactic Super Emperor for all I care.

    If the unthinkable happens and the Cardinals upset the Phillies, it will end up a mid market nightmare the rest of the way for Turner. He might want to consider having one of his guys kneecap Pujols or Carpenter. Theriot too just for fun. Maybe a few more Cardinals just to be safe.

    When I got in my car this morning, Peter Gammons was on the M&H show, and I turned it on mid conversation, and the way he was talking made it sound as though he was coming here until he said something along the lines of if he comes to Chicago.

    The question these goofballs should be asking is if Epstein were to come to a team that's already in shambles, would he want to do it if they were to give up their two best players? I think no. With Castro and Garza, he at least has two good building blocks to work with. Take those two away, and he has a solid catcher, a great set up man, and a bunch of junk.

    Maybe if Robin Ventura had any sort of managerial experience at all. How do you think Ryno thinks that when he wanted to manage the Cubs asked him to go to A ball and work his way up through the minors managing, which he did without complaint, and then when the Cubs job opened he was passed over, and then he sees the White Sox hire a guy with no managerial experience at all? I was anti-Ryno, and still am, but I can imagine it angers him to see that. Ryno will see red. I was joking, but you KNOW that will be the buzz -- if the White Sox can hire Ventura, why can't the Cubs hire Sandberg? Lets go for broke and hire Ernie Banks.

Hiring someone who has absolutely no coaching or managerial experience whatsoever to manage the team? When were the Cubs very close to doing that? Does Ventura really have 0?
