  1. I think he simply lost his job for now. Alcantara is at SS and Silva at 2B.
  2. He does somewhat resemble the not quite mentally there adult son who lives in his parents or grandparents attic or basement that the neighborhood kids always want to play with depsite their parents pleas to stay away from him. Goonies and To Kill a Mockingbird both tell me that he's harmless.
  3. Szczur 3-4 with a 2B. Perfect 5-0 for the organization!
  4. They've had vintage Peavy and Dunn, but that's about it. Rios started strong, but fell off a cliff. They might actually be better off this way. I could see them being a .500 team but nothing special, but if thyre awful they could really cash in Peavy and Konerko. Maybe even move Dunn and most of his contract if he can hang in there. Did they extend Floyd, because there's another guy who could be worth a lot.
  5. We have seen some nice D this evening. Nice everything.
  6. He's white and gritty and gives it his all and plays the game the right way and has edgy facial hair and runs into walls. What more reason do you need? Did I mention he's gritty?
  7. First vintage Marmol, now vintage Soto. The '08 Cubs are back baby!
  8. But is 2B a option? Seriously though, if he continues to hit anything like what he has so far, they'll find a way to get him in there.
  9. That inning was both the worst and the best I've see Marmol this season.
  10. How long before Marmol becomes baseballs most expensive mop up man?
  11. Nailed him in the back. Looked like a hard one. Still, if they plunk Starlin Castro, then you retaliate by hitting Heyward. If they plunk Reed Johnson, you retaliate by kicking their bat boy in the shin.
  12. @#$@#$1!! He didn't necessarily say he'll pitch, just that we'll see him. Just trying to be optimistic.
  13. In the Cubs defense, you don't plunk the opponents best hitter in retaliation for hitting Reed Johnson. In the Braves defense, you don't plunk David DeJesus in retaliation for plunking your best hitter.
  14. As of now, Stewarts stock is slowly but surely on the rise whilest Darwin Barneys free falls. However, LaHair-Castro-Cardenas-Stewart could be historically bad.

  16. TT::LaHair=rich white guys::Obama
  17. I don't remember exactly the last time we went back to back to back, but I think it was Lee-Ramirez-Barrett.
  18. Was that the first time we've gone back to back this season?
  19. There's no sound as beautiful as the silence of Hawk stopping mid sentence when the opposing team hits a walk off against the Sox. Basically, if you took an over zealous fan out of a south side bar and put them in the announcers booth the result wouldn't be too far off from Hawk.
  20. Haven't met a lot of Sox fans have you? I have and they are usually annoying, but most of the Cubs (or a majority of baseball) fans I know are just as annoying. Cubs fans are just stupid. White Sox fans are aggressively stupid. The worst are Brewer fans. At least Sox and Cards fans are vocal regardless, but Brewer fans are as scarce as they come when their team sucks, but when they're good or on a hit streak they crawl out of the wood work to talk [expletive] about the Cubs. They don't seem to care about any team other than us, although I suspect that after last season they may feel the same about the Cardianls.
