  1. Easily the draft pick in that scenario. Really? Obviously, you know a lot more about these things than I do, but I can't imagine that a 20 year old who was viewed as one of the top young commodities not to long ago could have fallen far enough that a lottery ticket would be a more desireable option. Believe. I have more hopes for Geiger than Starling. Even with this in mind, if he were the centerpiece in a package for DeJesus and Feldman, I can't imagine that Theo would pass it up.
  2. Baez still will get one or two more AB's this game. But if he finishes hitless, it will be 9 games ago since his last hit in play. That's hilarious. 32 PA, .208/.406/.833, .000 BABIP It's like Adam Dunn's wet dream. Since the big game, 1-20 with 6 BB.

  4. If we could get Bubba Starling or Kyle Zimmer for a reclamation who we initially expected to be a somewhat productive 5 starter or a swing man, a 37 year old jalopy, and a free agent to be, I'll be ecstatic. If we could somehow get both Starling and Zimmer for said package I'll be; well, I don't think there's a word for it. As unlikely as it is, if we were to replace Feldman with Garza, it could be realistic. Might not be the monster package that we all expected in return for Garza last year, but at this point I'll take it and run, especially if an extension isn't in the cards.
  5. Any chance that Dunston sniffs Kane County by the end of the year? I know it's only been 4 games in Boise, but he also torched his way through EXST.
  6. http://cdn.pjmedia.com/tatler/files/2012/10/i_m_ok_with_this__n1296497202304__super.png Better than Castro who can only strike out, ground out, and pop out.
  7. It's pretty much between Schierholtz, Wood, and Samardzjia for pity All-stars. On the bright side, we'll end with a good laugh 10 years from now when we're a perennial 90 win team and look back on the days when Bryan LaHair and Nate Schierholtz were reluctantly pencilled in as our All Stars.
  8. It's the Hooner, which is even better and redneckyer.
  9. Don't care either way about Bour, but I'll assume that the Hooner would be Jae Hoon Ha, so that adds yet another worthwhile prospect to Tennessee.
  10. I feel he was down to .604 at one point before he picked up a few hits in the Mets series.
  11. You do realize you can't just do that, right? Ha! That's the spirit. He's not bad in a low leverage situation. But in a save situation he becomes a hunk of cheese attached to a car battery to Dale Sveum's dim witted lab rat; you'd think that he'd eventually learn that every time he takes a bite, he gets his whiskers seered off.
  12. No Soler. That's a touch worrisome
  13. At first, all I saw was Almora, 0 for 1, left with leg cramps. Panic avoided.
  14. Found this with some Twitter digging. Seems odd that he wouldn't get at least an AB.
  15. If we still have him in 60 days, you can keep being fond of him. Chances are he'll be with the team for the rest of the season at that point. Yeah, I brain cramped. 45 days. So he will be gone in 60 days. He'll just have been gone for 15 days by then so you're both right.
  16. Jesus F. Christ, Castro with 3 K's through 4 innings. That's gotta make even Brett Jackson cringe.
  17. Makes more sense than giving McDonald a roster spot.
  18. If you want a right-handed OF, you might as well go with Sappelt who is already on the 40-man. More importantly, there's still a glimmer of hope that he could be a 4th/5th OF going forward. McDonald is just a guy who plays for a AAA baseball team until they decide that someone from AA is ready to take his spot.
  19. The only thing seperating Bobby V from Ozzie Guillen at this point is the fact that Ozzie realizes that he's a sideshow act and embraces it.
  20. To play baseball? I'm surprised you haven't been clamoring for his call-up Well the .617 SLG is pretty exciting. Oh, wait. That's his OPS.
  21. Alcantara with a pair of walks on the night. A K too.
  22. Watkins would be an interesting choice. We already had a surplus of outfielders. But it will more likely be something lame like Clevenger.
  23. I have to think that whatever they've been trying to accomplish by starting Cabrera off in AA has been accomplished. He should probably be sent to Iowa any time now.
