That's a terrible return for the Cubs. Again, IMHO 1 Top 10-25>2-3 Top 50-100 You should get 2 top 50-100 guys (basically the Jimenez trade) or Castellanos plus a high risk/high upside lower level arm for Garza ALONE IMO. So to also get Schierholtz/Gregg/Navarro, you should be getting more than what you got. Castellanos, Garcia, and Thompson plus whatever is probably the package I would go for unless you can get Smyly? That package doesn't get me all giddy, but then again Detroit doesn't really have the system to pull off a trade like that. That's a terrible return for the Cubs. I think that Jimenez had a few years under team control at the time. It's not often that a team is going to give up that much for a rental. That's a big part of what made the Dempster/Delgado deal so huge, and ultimately disappointing. Sometimes you'll get lucky with a team thats all in and willing to give up whatever it takes to make it happen; the Sabathia trade rings a bell, but Garza is not Sabathia, and the Tigers aren't in the need for front end pitching that the 2008 Brewers were.
