    It’s related to inappropriate treatment of a female employee* and/or John Doe #2. *There was a feature about Caley Chelios in the Athletic about four days before he was booted.

    Fields will not be the QB next year unless he manages to pull off a run here, and that would include an upset victory over the suddenly shaky Lions. If the song remains the same, then our relatively short regional nightmare is likely coming to a close. We get two weeks to stew on a forgettable victory. The discourse will be stale. But it will be, nonetheless. Buckle up kids, let’s see if Justin Fields has more tricks up his sleeve.

    I think the most likely reason that Getsy called such a bad game is two fold. 1) He took it personally when Fields (stupidly) called out coaching early in the year and has not liked Fields having big games in primetime after he seeded the ProBagent nonsense against LA. 2) they knew they could win a game against an actually bad NFL QB whose ride turned into a pumpkin last week. So they called a game that would give Fields no chance for glory through the air, but enough of a chance to score some points and maybe get Fields hurt on designed runs. I think Getsy would like nothing more than win in spite of Fields. It worked on Kyle and it would work on other non thinkers.

    That’s simply not true Jonny simpleton. And the plays were not executed reliably by anybody.

    Regardless of the exact number, there is no way in hell that Getsy didn’t call for the vast majority of wr/te screens. OCs take a lot of heat when plays don’t work. Often times the complaints are unwarranted. When you call the same run and pass combos all game long, that’s on the OC. You cannot get away with that in the NFL. It’s not a surprise that it didn’t work.

    I’m going to guess he drunkenly hit on somebody in the traveling party, or, perhaps more despicable he went on a diatribe about the 2nd accuser lawsuit that was filed earlier this month. Remember the way some vets reportedly responded to the original incident. Perry is quite likely one of those guys.

    Good games to finish out with no blowups should change some minds. An upset or two and beating the bad teams would help. 3-2 with close losses, or god forbid 4-1 to end including a win vs GB to finish with quality performances THAT INCLUDE TOUCHDOWN PASSES would be nice.

    Good summation. I kind of think of it this way: hire Harbaugh = bring back Fields and surround him with more blue chippers while also taking multiple swings at non day one QBs in draft. Try and squeeze a playoff run out of next year. If you want to take a young QB, bring aboard a real competent offensive head coach who has competed and won in the NFL. Let that guy build his own staff and give that group through the 2025 season to be good. but what’s going to happen is Eberflus and Poles get to take their own guy this year, probably even bring back Getsy and a shiny new DC. That will reset their expectation to win clock with a qb on a rookie contract.

    Seriously horsefeathers high school playbook. Same run every play, same pass play a dozen times. Just garbage offense.

    Time was not an issue there. You had plenty of time to go a short distance. There was no need to run a play unless you had a VERY good matchup. I was wondering why they even lined up. It’s basic clock management.

    Kind of amazing how much the Bears have been involved in major changes for other teams this year. First, they blow a huge lead against an awful broncos team that is now steamrolling teams. Then they blow out a decent commanders team that has since fallen apart and fired their DC. They beat a raiders team that fired their head coach a week later, then beat a panthers team that fired their head coach a week later. if I’m a coach facing the bears down the stretch I’m doing anything possible to avoid a loss.
