  1. somebody is out of jail and the US is terrible at soccer defense
  2. well that was pointless
  3. that zusi shot was much closer on replay than I thought live.
  4. did the US just set a team record for consecutive completed passes?
  5. http://i.kinja-img.com/gawker-media/image/upload/s--nmqFDGyr--/c_fit,fl_progressive,q_80,w_636/785173103046619309.jpg freaking nazis just can't help themselves
  6. Perhaps because the conditions are expected to be poor, they think lack of speed won't be as much of a concern? Maybe they are the guys who remembered their long cleats.
  7. This is an amazingly ridiculous line of reasoning. By this measure, they could never use the "maximum penalty" because there is always the chance that the next guy will do something worse. Proportionality matters, but once you are a three time offender of a fairly obvious infraction that can be easily avoided and has no place in the action of the game, you can't be protected against further punishment simply because somebody thinks that one day some other dude might actually follow through on the bite and rip off an ear or something. That's absurd.
  8. The first time, sure. But after multiple versions of the same thing? Yes. I don't think even three biting incidents are the worst of the worst possible offenses. What? Sure, I guess a player could deliberately choke an opponent to death. But the fact that 2 years is the maximum does not mean that you can only use that maximum on the one "truly worst possible offense" and then have to go lower from there.
  9. The first time, sure. But after multiple versions of the same thing?
  10. They are essentially giving him a multi-month vacation in a sport that doesn't have much down time. I imagine some NHL, NBA or NFL players would love to get involved in a situation where they were "forced" to miss training camp and the first few weeks of the regular season.
  11. pictures seem to show they didn't have any tarp on the field. That would have to be some bad ass drainage system if the field isn't a disaster.
  12. FIFA took a bite out of crime
  13. Don't they still paint "Vote Brewers" on their field by homeplate? That's lame. Why? Every team promotes voting their players into the All Star Game.
  14. another quote was only that he is not on the trading block.
  15. I thought it was a middle aged woman impersonating a young boy, and I am not yet convinced that is not the case.
  16. 1 out in the 9th, make it 2
  17. I get having the battery totally incapable of holding runners, but unless the pitcher was going full wind-up and the catcher was dropping every pitch I'm not sure how that makes home plate such an easy steal.
  18. Dreaming on future infield of: C: Schwarber 1B Rizzo 2B Baez 3B Bryant SS Castro Defense be damned. That would seem to clash with Bosio's ability to improve GB%. How so? Schwarber isn't fielding ground balls, and the "weakest" would be Bryant who could be fine for all we know.
  19. I have noticed that some PR issues with Sharp have come up in the last couple of days. Seems like standard McDonough work, before a popular player can be moved, he needs to be demonized. what were these issues? I've been calling Sharp the best trade bait for a few years now.
