  1. so the ladies should be quiet and take what they're given?
  2. I get why the MNT would be mad about Wambach's comments, but Solo was arguing more that the women should be treated the same as the men, not that the men had done anything wrong. I don't think she was throwing them under the bus even a little bit. She said the men get paid to "just show up" while "they win championships". How is that not throwing the MNT under the bus? How is that throwing them under the bus? Is it even possible for people on different teams to throw each other under a bus?
  3. How did Hope Solo throw the men's team under the bus?
  4. Right on both accounts. Asking a place like Wrigley to have some 10% ABV imperial stout or double IPA available is kind of silly. 312 pale and wheat are both perfectly acceptable for a baseball game. And I'm the snobbiest of beer snobs. I believe 312 pale was replaced by Green Line. 312 Pale Ale don't exist anymore:
  5. I laughed. Oh, trust me, so did I. I don't think the comments that Hope Solo made on Today or GMA about how the men just "show up" sat very well with the MNT, who in general have been nothing if not publicly supportive of the WNT in both on and off field matters. But Hope Solo is an idiot who didn't think through the consequences of suing the organization that stood by her. I'm certain she didn't think anything of throwing the men under the bus. I'd think USMNT members would be hesitant to crack wise about players involved in drinking and driving situations
  6. She came up with 3-4 one thing that really sets the mets rotation apart from all the rest
  7. But trades changed the franchise or something
  8. churches play music like that? the Church I go to does, they play some U2 and Bob Dylan and a variety of others also. Not really for sing along, but introduction and other things. My post was more of a dig at Mum&Sons and contemporary Christian music. Didn't want to include the others in my lame joke.It was a perfectly cromulent joke
  9. Buffalo chicken fried are best served with waffle fries
  10. Couldn't get a gig with the main affiliate?
  11. Thankfully, in America, you have that right. That does not preclude his right to play his favorite song like everyone else. I'm telling you man, that's not his favorite song. And in this country we frown on shameless promotion
  12. I'm more offended by his Christianity.
  13. it's pretty obviously not what he meant he said nobody on this board/in this conversation was encouraging anyone of any religion to push their beliefs on others I really am confused then. I don't understand why he would say that. The word "other" seems to indicate the way I read it, no? Because you came in whining about everybody but Christians getting to express themselves.
  14. What in the ever loving crap does that isis story have to do with Tim's comment about people not being encouraged to push their beliefs on others on this forum? Also, it's really doubtful that is his favorite song. If he's playing his wife's (awful) music he's trying to promote his wife's (awful) music. Like if one of these guys was married to One Direction and played their music in their walk up, that would suck. Someone suggested that no other religion pushes their beliefs on others. I implied that a group of people who were killing people for their differing religious views were doing just that. Its pretty straightforward. I'm not pushy with my beliefs. In fact, I've been in this forum 13 years, and I'd venture to say that none of you even know what my religious views are. But I kind get sick of the "everyone should express themselves, but if Christians express themselves in EXACTLY the same way, its pushy" mantra. You have to be searching for an opportunity to feel slighted to come up with that interpretation.

  16. I missed where anyone of other religions was being encouraged to push their beliefs on others. Really?!? 1. I don't see how playing your favorite song in the same way your teammates are playing theirs is pushing anything. 2. http://www.ijreview.com/2015/02/251741-isis-terrorists/ What in the ever loving crap does that isis story have to do with Tim's comment about people not being encouraged to push their beliefs on others on this forum? 18. I concur. I also thought most christian music tried to be a little less on the nose than that. It was basically a sunday school story sung.
  19. others pointed out that "priors" count going back 18 months, and Keith is in the clear on that front.
  20. I've watched a couple seconds here and there and cringe at the racial mascot aspect of it. I don't get the draw myself. I do get why somebody like DeRosa is so excited about it.
  21. kawasaki is very much a fringe player and there is nothing wrong with not knowing who he is. very few people actually watch mlb network
  22. McSorley went at the guy from behind, steady on both feet with a two handed chop. Keith swung his stick one handed from his ass like a child that got knocked down and was flailing while getting up. It is not the similar. It's incredibly different.
  23. He got 5 for elbowing a Sedin. Coyle returned to the game so that might reduce his sentence but My first thought was 5 games. He should get more but unless the NHL deems this to be particularly brutal, I think the playoffs coming up plays a role in the length of the suspension. Either way, idiotic move by Keith. Honestly, other than the result of the victim, is this much different then Marty McSorley's slash that I believe got him arrested? Yes, it was much different. Much much different. Come on.
