  1. The Cubs have only shown the tip
  2. It's not cheating if it's a ladyboy
  3. There is no benefit to having them as currently implemented. The difference between a poorly hit ball that drops for a hit or a poorly hit ball that a fielder trips and doesn't get to or a poorly hit ball that the fielder muffs is no difference at all. Yeah thats my issue with it, whats the difference between a blooper that squeezes in vs. a well struck grounder that a fielder plays off his mitt? The whole idea of the error introduces this strange moral element about whether the hitter "deserves" to be on base or whether the fielder "should" have gotten it. It totally warps how we think about defense too. Its just an archaic relic and we shouldn't have them, but I don't expect we'll ever get rid of them anytime soon. a well struck ball off a mitt is often credited as a hit
  4. what about wing span?
  5. you mean the bummed reaction to the pop out? No, the part where they cheered a weak fly ball that was clearly going nowhere. I heard two that inning, one where Coomer got excited along with the fans but the wind knocked the ball down. And on the last out the fans let out a collective groan that they wasted a scoring opportunity.

  7. Even casual fans know this team is good, so they're coming to the park ready to cheer. Give them a break. amen brother don't horsefeathers on excitement

  9. Reminds me a bit of the 2006 season when the Bears came in something like 6-1. It was a night game and the Giants were favored by like 7 or 8 points. Incredibly easy money on that one. Obviously this team doesn't look to have anywhere close to the defense that Bears team had. And they don't have Devin Hester to return a 55 yard field goal for a touchdown.
  10. Assuming that is negative 1.5 I will take the under
  11. Bears play philly at home next year.

  13. any word why they were trying to take him off the 40 man at this point?
  14. exactly, i'm almost so low stressed about these playoffs that I feel guilty about it. I'm sure if/when the Hawks advance to the WCF my stress levels would shoot way up. I definitely feel very bad fanish about it, but it would be nice to at least win a little this spring.
  15. for a split second I almost forgot how utterly boring yankee stadium is
  16. would prefer ballpark areola quiz
  17. yep, that would be pretty awesome
  18. Mine was this: Chicago Bears 35 at Tampa Bay Buccaneers 42 Sunday, October 8, 1989 Sat in Vince Tobin's seats, right behind Steve McMichael's wife. Seeing the Bucs in their first live NFL game must be a theme. My first game: http://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/199309260chi.htm A bunch of drunk fans were chanting Harbaugh's name throughout. Little did I know, 23 years later he'd still be very relevant in my sports world. that wasn't my first game, just my first game in tampa. I don't remember what my first game was, but I do remember going to the preseason game played at Notre Dame in 86.
  19. Found it. December 26, 1982. Detroit was up 21-6 in the 3rd and Tampa came back to win 23-21. Mine was this: Chicago Bears 35 at Tampa Bay Buccaneers 42 Sunday, October 8, 1989 Sat in Vince Tobin's seats, right behind Steve McMichael's wife.
  20. Why is that? I like it when I can go to a game without missing any other games. I don't give a horsefeathers about any other games when the Bears are on. And a Monday night game for a road trip means taking off both Monday and Tuesday. The atmosphere at prime time games sucks, etc etc etc. If I'm traveling to a warm weather climate to watch a bears game I want to go tailgate there beforehand, enjoy the game in warm weather and and head on home on my own time. Oh, I also forgot to mention that I like doing group trips for these things and having everybody available to have time off Monday and Tuesday is impossible. If it's just the wife and I, same issue plus child care or taking the kids out of school for two days.
