I don't get what the issue is. Teams manipulate IR all the time as the season ends. The NFL had to approve Rodgers being sent to IR the second time anyway, and obviously they did. I think you get what the issue is but are pretending it's not one because it's easier that way.

no you goober. people who care about their reputation as journalists tweet responsibly, and joe blows like this guy tweet like idiots on message boards that posted fake stories. twitter didn't do it. But idiots like this get attention and retweets and front offices feel obligated to address them. I dont see the Cubs FO issuing statements denying Back2Banks’ latest three way trade idea. Twitter sucks for allowing nazis and abusive misogynists to run rampant, but it didn't invent [expletive] sports free agent rumors gaining traction.

It would probably be some sort of violation to say you examined him, but saying he signed can't be. Now, the bigger question to me is how the Cubs would appreciate their team doctors leaking that they examined Yu and Yu is signing with the team. It's kind of pointless for Yu's personal physician to be involved at all.
